If you are who you are and people don't change what would free will be if redemption was just a myth?
Personally the past week has felt "good" but only good in the same way the gel they put over your gums is. I'm happy and I don't know if that's bullshit. Fools gold of being fine. I'll take it I guess.
The "basic human empathy" crowd gives the benefit of complexity and nuance when it comes to women's mental health issues and trauma but will not spare a moment for men that are just as molded by formative experiences.
"Just change" is telling men to get over it but wokely.
Do you want to believe what is true or do you want to actually be moved? I think every conscious person wakes up with this dilemma.
"You should never have children" while it may be true or even beneficial in some cases it is just about the most diminishing thing you can say to someone.
Procrastinating on something important and the worst part is how you genuinely feel like you're getting away with it.
I think any world beyond ours that has dragons is permanently locked out of progress because they would be the end all be all of wars negotiations trade and sciences.
We would have never made muskets or had the industrial revolution if dragons were around and tamed.
There might be a civilizations among the stars that could have even been more developed than us but never chose to because dragons or a similar equivalent creature reinforced the need not to. Nobody has talked about how this could explain part of the Fermi paradox.

2020 was an important year in American history. COVID, Summer of Floyd, and the disputed election still affect the country and the "trauma" still animate its social tensions.
But unlike 9/11, people prefer to forget the whole year happened. It's been memory holed how the nation responded to George Floyd's death. Ron DeSantis tried to base his primary on relitigating COVID before figuring out even GOP primary voters don't want to revisit the topic. Libs have mostly stopped caring about J6.
One reason people don't want to revisit that year is that it makes most of us look bad. COVID hysteria and BLM support were widespread and inspired some of the most insane behavior in our nation's history. Much of the insanity came from ordinary citizens rather than the government.
While 2020 still shapes us who we are today, it's more comfortable for people to pretend it never happened.
