A statue of Jesus Christ was decapitated and anti-Catholic graffiti was spray-painted across a historic war memorial outside St Alban's Catholic Church in Warrington, England, just days before Remembrance Sunday.
The head of Jesus was smashed off the crucifix, while green and black paint was smeared across the monument. Offensive words, including "no cross s**t", were written on the memorial's plaque.
The memorial commemorates local parishioners who died during the First and Second World Wars.
St Alban's, founded in 1772, is Warrington's oldest surviving Catholic parish and a Grade II listed church.

Authorities recovered an AR-15-style rifle, a MAC-10, a Glock 43X and ammunition from the vehicle.
DHS says the suspect illegally crossed the Texas border in March 2024 and was released into the country under the Biden administration. He now faces multiple weapons and vehicle-related charges, while ICE has lodged a detainer.
