Great to see my new rep @repdelgado in DC this week. Lots of work ahead to incorporate farming in the #GND, #farmbill implementation, plus getting $$ for so many farm bill programs that were authorized with zero $$$. Here with @YoungFarmers @efw_mt Sophie Ackoff Michelle Hughes
Today I sat down with @YoungFarmers to hear about #FarmBill programs to help farmers sell their products at farmers markets and support new and beginning farmers in our region.
Job opportunity! Work with @katebgreenberg at CO department of ag. colorado.gov/pacific/agmain/…
I get to work with these amazing people! Lots of great conversations with members today on student debt, climate, farmer training, and farmer counseling.
Some of our staff in DC today, braving the #wintrymix, meeting with new Members of Congress, and advocating for programs that support #youngfarmers! @LLShute @efw_mt @USDA #farmbill

It was great to be on Food Talk with @DaniNierenberg this week talking about how @YoungFarmers got started and how we can recruit the next generation of US growers
“We all need young farmers desperately in this country,” says @YoungFarmers's @LLShute on my "Food Talk" podcast. “When we have young people take interest, we all have to be right there with them. Let’s help them do this and succeed." Listen. foodtank.com/news/2019/02/it…
This farmer likes it @SenMarkey @AOC Thanks for including farmers and agriculture in the #GreenNewDeal . Climate change is one of the biggest threats that we face, and we need bold action to address it.
We’ve had enough evidence for a long time. #ClimateAction now
2018 global temperatures 4th highest on record bit.ly/2Ty2RAM but also highest CO2 and CH4 concentrations, sea level, ocean heat content etc and @metoffice says 10% chance of exceeding 1.5C in next 5 years. Isn't this enough evidence for serious #climatechange action ?
