NEW VIDEO: Milwaukee Brewers assistant general manager Matt Kleine walks the red carpet with #Astros owner Jim Crane at last week's Houston Sports Hall of Fame event. Kleine is reportedly a candidate to be the next GM of the #Astros.

The Astros’ search for a GM is gaining momentum and they are optimistic about making a hire before the end of the WS, per @Chandler_Rome. Some candidates who’ve drawn serious interest from Houston: - Brewers executive Matt Kleine - White Sox assistant GM Josh Barfield - Cardinals assistant GM Randy Flores

This hire, if it happens, will partially restore my faith in Jim Crane.

FINAL: Rays 7, Guardians 3 The Tampa Bay Rays are American League champions and will play the Milwaukee Brewers in the World Series — and one of them will win their first championship in franchise history. The Rays have been around for 29 years and the Brewers for 58 seasons.

If the score holds a team that has never won a world series will fight for a title between the Rays and the Brewers.

The sad reality is that after building one of, if not THE premier club of the American League, bad spending and Jim's ego completely obliterated any and all momentum going forward. This isn't something that can be fixed overnight with one or two moves. It's going to take time to rebuild something we already had brick by brick. Can it be done? Sure anything is possible. Jim making the correct moves from this point will determine the long term future of this club. Probably the most consequential off-season we've had in a while friends. 🤷

To go from the cutting edge of baseball analytics to this is abhorrent. 😡 The Astros need to get back to their winning roots.

Christian Walker this year hit 29 home runs (2nd most on the team), had 87 RBIs (3rd most on the team), with a .727 ops. He also has the 2nd most strikeouts behind Cam and a .226 avg ( his lowest since 2018). If the Astros did look to move on from him who would you like to play 1st?

How GM Bagwell gonna choose his next big free agent signing.

@AstrosJoshOct 16

Owner/GM Jim Crane and BFF/AGM Jeff Bagwell spent $118m+ on first basemen in then last 4 years rather than keeping 3B Alex Bregman or extending SS Jeremy Peña BUT HEY - Walkers plays above average defense, seems like a good dude, hits some HRs, and fans like the guy 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's humerous to me how feelings towards certain past Astros personnel evolve over time. When Maldy was with us some people couldn't stand when he was in the lineup. When Dusty was here he got ran out of town by people hating on here. Luhnow and Click received their share of it as well. Now there's folks clamoring for their return to the organization. Wonder if after a few years we see the same with Dana Brown and Espada. 😭
