Five years yesterday since we lost the great Ray Fosse. I’ll never forget the glee in Bill King’s voice when Ray would join us on @Athletics Radio. “A Fosse Day!”Nobody loved the A’s or loved baseball more than Ray. We miss him every day.
5 years ago, today…we lost the heart and soul of the *Oakland A’s.
He was the face of the franchise and the voice of our summer’s.
We miss you Fosse, we love you Ray. 💛🖤

Sam Fuld was offered the A’s job as president of baseball operations but declined to take it and has withdrawn from consideration, sources tell ESPN. Fuld, who was previously GM of Philadelphia, will remain in his current role as president of business operations for the Phillies.

One thing we did during those final couple seasons was post all the opposing team’s broadcast. We had to look elsewhere for honesty and tribute during that final year because the A’s executive team simply didn’t care.
None did it better than the Rangers broadcast.
Here’s all the clips from the 9.26.24 broadcast in no particular order.

Single best outing of my career. So impactful for the season too.
Fourteen years ago today, my guy @jerryblevins picked up the biggest save of the 2012 Oakland Athletics season, and I was there live to see it.
How quiet was Angel Stadium on that game ending 5-4-3 Double Play?
You can hear me & 1B Brandon Moss screaming in celebration 🙌

The most unusual aspect of these firings is the timing. A's prospects are arriving in AZ this week for the instructional league. These changes usually occur in the offseason or after you've hired a new head of baseball ops. Could just be cost-cutting ahead of potential lockdown.

Fisher choosing to bet on the lockout instead of the success of his own franchise. Classic.

John Fisher is cutting operational costs to prepare for a lockdown, just like he did when he stopped paying minor leaguers during COVID & had the A’s retweet a gofundme link for Webby, instead of stepping up for a beloved employee who was on a ventilator at the time.

Hearing that a number of members of the A's minor league staff were let go today. People in the organization seem reluctant to talk about it, but someone said it seems to have come from "the top" (wherever that is right now) and referred to it as a "purge."
