INCHIDENT
Kimi Antonelli stopped to help a photographer who'd gone arse over tip while walking backwards in front of him. Once everyone was back on their feet, he continued on his merry way to Mercedes hospitality, and possibly his first World Drivers' Championship.

MORE NERVOUS THAN RACING

FRANCO ON TWO WHEELS
Franco Colapinto swapped four wheels for two as he climbed aboard the Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP bike, normally ridden by Jack Miller and Toprak Razgatlıoğlu. With the engine running but the bike in neutral, Franco was pushed down the paddock and loved every moment of it. The Argentine has some experience riding bikes, and while he didn’t get near full speed, he certainly attracted plenty of attention from those around him.

MORE OF THE SAME
Fresh from a magnificent eighth-place finish at the Singapore Grand Prix, Nico Hulkenberg will be hoping to deliver another strong result in this weekend’s race in Austin. And I’m sure Nico, along with the rest of the drivers, will be delighted that the weather conditions are looking a little cooler this time around.

RECORD BREAKING WEEKEND?
Kimi Antonelli arrives in the paddock for this weekend’s United States Grand Prix knowing that, by Sunday evening, he could be crowned World Champion! Of course, there are a few permutations to consider, with Kimi needing to outscore his Mercedes teammate George Russell by 23 points and Lewis Hamilton by 14 to secure the title this weekend. It’s a huge ask, but the opportunity is there for the young Italian to make history. The pressure doesn’t seem to be getting to him just yet, though, with Kimi spending last night watching NBA basketball.

BIG DAY PENDING
Liam Lawson arrived into the paddock this morning with his Taylor guitar in hand, ready to swap the race track for the stage! After ticking off all his media duties, Liam’s Thursday evening is looking a little different from the usual routine. Tonight from 7pm, he’ll be trading the roar of the engines for country tunes as he headlines VCARB’s Garage Session. With tickets available for fans to get in on the action, it promises to be a great evening.

TOUGH DAY
George Russell finished ninth today after starting from the back of the grid, making some lovely moves to overtake his fellow drivers along the way. In the end, George admitted that ninth was the best result they could have hoped for, with Nico Hulkenberg’s Audi proving a frustrating obstacle. Despite a difficult afternoon, George remains second in the World Drivers’ Championship on 238 points, holding a nine-point lead over third-placed Lewis Hamilton.

RECOVERY DONE WELL
Isack Hadjar had finished in the top six in each of his last nine Grands Prix, but that streak came to an end today as he crossed the line in P10, securing a valuable point for himself and Red Bull. After starting from the pit lane, Hadjar had plenty of work to do. Gaining valuable track position and fighting his way into the points was an impressive recovery from the Frenchman, who made the most of a difficult starting position.

IN THE TOP THREE
Joining Max Verstappen and Kimi Antonelli on the podium today was Charles Leclerc, ended the race exactly where he started. With a two-stop strategy, Charles needed to find strong pace throughout the race to make it work, and that’s exactly what he delivered. Ferrari executed the strategy well, allowing Charles to keep pushing and secure a valuable podium finish. After a demanding race, it was a well-earned result for the Monegasque driver.

BEST OF THE REST
Liam Lawson might well have just secured his seat with VCARB for next year after a terrific drive to finish P7 at the Singapore Grand Prix. He was met with joy by his manager, press officer and sister Leah after the race. A job well done

A BIG WHAT IF
Kimi Antonelli was quick to cool down in parc ferme, pouring water over his head after an exhausting Singapore Grand Prix. But could the water turn to championship-winning champagne at the next race? It’s a long shot, with five drivers still mathematically in contention for the title, but it’s not impossible.

SPREADING THE LOVE
Nico Hulkenberg was delighted to spot his family waiting for him in the paddock after today’s race. His wife, Egle, and their daughter were straight in for a hug, followed by his manager, Raoul Spanger. With so many drivers joined by family this weekend, it’s lovely to see that support waiting for them after such an intense race. The love even extended to Oliver Bearman, who received a high five from Nico’s daughter as he made his way back towards the Haas hospitality suite.
