Did New York make the correct roster decision?
Mike Brown with very high praise for Bruce Brown, but explains why Knicks went with James Wiseman for last roster spot:
"Bruce, he’s a winner. He shows a level of toughness and versatility – not just defensively, he can guard one through four, but even offensively. He can initiate the offense. Our point guard’s not one that has to come down every play and break his guy down and make the game easier for everyone else. We have a system to where we play out of concepts, and Bruce is good enough to initiate the offense, or he’s good enough to be off-the-ball. So he fits in with what with how we want to play on both ends, while giving us versatility on both ends. Having a chance to get to know him, he seems like a good guy. He seems like he knows a lot of our guys because he was in the same class as a few of them. So it was tough from that standpoint.
“But when you have a guy that’s 25 years old, that has the length and the athleticism and the talent as a James Wiseman, because KAT’s not athletic like that and Andre was once that, he still has some of it, but to have that at 25 years old, especially with where we’re at as a group, you look for guys that coulda shoulda, but at his age maybe he still can be a coulda shoulda. That vertical threat at the rim, the vertical threat defensively, how good he runs, you welcome that at his size and age and athleticism.”

Tough news for Drew Eubanks, who was competing for a spot on the Knicks’ opening-night roster.
With Eubanks set to be waived, the center competition now shifts toward James Wiseman and Tony Bradley.

Wiseman as the frontrunner is interesting. Still feel like that spot's wide open though.

No need to overpay KAT. $50M is more than enough for the 3rd best player on the team.

It’s fun to laugh at new Knick fans stress about the KAT contract. If KATs publicly asking for the Max, then Knicks have all the leverage. Just laugh and move on. We’re talking 277M for 4 years at 32? Jokic is testing free agency in summer 2027.
James Edwards III believes James Wiseman is the frontrunner for the Knicks’ center spot.
Ian Begley also ranks Wiseman atop the field, citing his upside.
Both believe NY could find a way to keep Bruce Brown, whether now or later.
Who should make the roster?
LeBron James believes OG Anunoby was the Knicks’ Finals MVP.
“OG was, I think, was the MVP of the team in the Finals.”
He praised OG’s defense, timely plays and consistency while acknowledging Brunson as the “head of the snake.”
