When @kathynajimy, @RealLindaPerry, @chelywright, @lulublitzer, and I were compiling the list of our dream contributors a bunch of years ago for 'My Moment: 106 Women on Fighting for Themselves,' Gloria Steinem was at the very top of our list. We asked her “What was the moment in your life when you realized you were ready to fight for yourself?" This was her essay response. I am so grateful that she lent her wisdom to this book.
