That’s really what it comes down to for me. It’s not that there aren’t good people behind Trump. There are. But after everything that happened in 2020, I can’t shake the feeling that he got robbed of four years he should’ve had. Now he’s back, he’s getting results, and part of me just thinks: let the man finish what he started. Not because nobody else can do it. Because, in my eyes, he already earned the time.

My name is Lavern Spicer and I been Black all my life. I only been a Republican since Donald Trump. How did it happen? One day I noticed that everything that was a problem in the 60s is still a problem today: Homelessness. Addiction. Food insecurity. Crime. Illiteracy. The world we live in got better. But the Black community didn’t. And the one constant is that we always vote Democrat. That’s when the bell went off. Our communities don’t get better because our elected officials don’t make them better. So I started asking myself: HOW LONG ARE WE GOING TO KEEP DOING THE SAME THING AND EXPECTING A DIFFERENT RESULT? I realized I had spent my entire life being told that voting Democrat was the only way for Black people. It took me to stop and ask IS IT WORKING? I didn’t become a Republican because somebody told me to. I became a Republican because I started LOOKING AT THE RESULTS. And once I did that, I couldn’t unsee it. That’s the conversation I want to have with my brothers and sisters. Not “Why aint you voting Republican?” But: WHY ARE YOU VOTING FOR PEOPLE WHO NEVER FIX YOUR PROBLEMS? Blessed Sunday yall.

I have no problem if you dislike President Trump. Where I draw the line is when you choose to vocalize it publicly. When our foreign rivals see American citizens criticizing their president, it makes us look weak. So if you have a negative thought about Trump — keep quiet.

At 65, I’m a man of contradictions. I’m conservative, but gay. I’m black, but I don’t obsess over slavery, racism, oppression, or reparations. I don’t fit into any of their boxes. I voted for Trump because he offered me more than any democrat has ever done. He offered to love my country and make it GREAT AGAIN. That's what I voted for. Because I’m just an American who wants to see his country remain the best in the world. And nothing Donald Trump has ever said made me afraid to vote for him. If he could run again, I’d vote for him again. Because let’s be honest: He’s a better president than any of the last 3 democrats we’ve had, or whoever they crap out in 2028.
