In Lebanon there's no way to check your court case online. You find out where it stands by driving to the courthouse. This weekend at Berytech, lawyers and engineers get 48 hours to build that tool. Not a new law. Just a page that tells you where your case is. Hack4Justice, by @InnoJustice and @berytech with Lebanon's Ministry of Justice, the Beirut Bar Association and @DutchMFA.

*Train. Adapt. Take your place.* According to the @InnoJustice (Hague Institute for Innovation of Law), 64% of Kenyans with legal problems turn to alternative justice mechanisms. Only 17% seek redress through courts and tribunals, with just about 5% engaging an advocate. The remaining 19% do nothing. That 64% is not a threat. It is an opportunity. As a @Ciarb member, I applaud the MoU between @lawsocietykenya and CIArb that supports advocates’ training. I had the privilege of engaging the first cohort of 110 advocates undertaking CIArb arbitration training. This training equips advocates to expand their practice beyond the courtroom and position themselves where disputes are increasingly being resolved. Congratulations to the first cohort. The disputes are evolving. The Bar must evolve with them.
