Thursday's sectional results are in. Z-Ratings have been rerun.
IHSAA tournament: 144 matches played, 251 to go, 255 teams alive.
Next: Cloverdale v. Seven Oaks Friday in Sect 61, then 190 semis & finals Saturday. That leaves 64 sectional champs.

So... WHAT IF THE TOURNAMENT WERE "SEEDED"?
We redrew the 2026 girls bracket so top 2 teams in every sectional can only meet in final. Regionals, the sectional w/best team plays sectional w/8th-best in their half of state, 1 v 8, 2 v 7, etc.

How the regional seeding works 👇
Each half of the state has 8 sectionals in every class. We ranked them 1 to 8 by their best team's Z-Rank.
Then it's bracket math: 1 v 8, 2 v 7, 3 v 6, 4 v 5.
The best sectional favorite gets the weakest one, like March Madness.
