A great GM!
We are thrilled to have “Tokyo’s Angel | 東京の天使” collected by the one and only Wilcox_NFT for 12 ETH.
After a year and a half of his commission, this 1/1 is a tribute to the CryptoPunks, the rebels, the innovators, the lone wolves, and two of my favorite movies, Blade Runner and Fallen Angels.
Thoughts about our space:
I've been around since 2021
I saw so many people come and go, good and bad
I went through many crashes like 3AC, FTX, Luna, Trump, etc
Today, more than ever, we are VERY few
It's so easy to think our space is big, but in reality it's an echo chamber
Many of those artists and collectors that left were great people, it was unfortunate for us to lose them
Choose to be kind to those who remain, choose to build good
No one knows what they have until it's gone
Prioritize relationships over transactions
Thoughts about New York:
I woke up at 6 to go to the gym
Worked out and left
found a small coffee shop run by some edgy teenagers
I ordered my latte, they spoke Spanish and I said I am Mexican and was just visiting
We spoke for a few minutes and they gifted me the coffee and wrote on it “enjoy New York”
I tipped them the amount of the coffee when they didn’t notice
Now I’m sitting on their vintage leather couch that has been softened by a thousand butts
I’m sinking in it while listening to music and drinking my coffee
This is happiness
Life is simple
Thank you New York
Museums play a huge role in our lives through conservation.
Usually we think of it as the tangible practice of archiving and restoring physical objects, but what about emotions and memories?
Through their meticulous display the MOMI more than only showcasing a collection weaved a story that took me back to my childhood.
Nowadays with AI and other technologies the friction for creating all of these incredible characters and quirky solutions to practical effects is slowly disappearing which is why more than ever it’s important to value the human experience of creation.
The MOMI celebrates that intricate and yet free creative mind that brought us movies, shows, games… any sort of entertainment that made us imagine and transported us into a world of possibilities.
Thank you New York and thank you MOMI
Thoughts about New York:
I honestly used to be a New York hater.
When I was a kid, my family and I traveled here every Winter for Christmas to see the celebrations and displays
The huge nutcrackers in Rockefeller Center, the Christmas carols, the displays at Macy's, the Home Alone type of Christmas...
I came back for the first time four years ago, and it felt rough, aggressive, chaotic
Well, of course, coming from Japan, anywhere in the world would be like that
Now that I'm taking it all in, it's as timeless as it's always been
I probably grew up and noticed things that, as a kid, I didn't.
The old-school New Yorkers, the architecture, the nightlife, the people...
Once you stop focusing on the immediate bad things, it starts to reveal its charm
It's as timeless as it has always been
I don't know whether I'd live here or not, but it feels great to have healed that scar I used to have
Now I love both Tokyo and New York
Thank you New York
