Foursquare did struggle as we made the transition from a consumer business to an enterprise business… but we did it! In 2019, 2020 and 2021 we publicly boasted about our $100M+ revenue years. So what happened?
Foursquare was acquired last month. The outcome was disappointing. It's taken me a while to write this, but I think I'm finally done grieving it. Here are some thoughts on our final years, an effort to honor the team who helped build & maintain FSQ's legacy, and my attempt to finally get some closure. teendrama.substack.com/p/som…

Ballot Finally Came
Probably the most important vote on this ballot is the following:

#Seahawks were off this weekend. AJ Barner wasn't.
The TE AJ Barner spent his Saturday night at the House That Love Built gala that raised $1.5M for the Ronald McDonald House of Western Washington.
Barner, Jim Zorn, Steve Raible auctioned an autographed Barner jersey, a football signed by Barner, Raible, Zorn and Barner’s Ronald McDonald House “My Cause, My Cleats."

WA voting system is so rigged man. Why is this ok to put opinions to mislead voters on the ballot itself? The tax is not in place yet, so there's no "decrease" in funding if this passes.

The U.S. needs a national strategy to revitalize the essential economy — that is, everything that is built, moved and fixed in this country. It’s the foundation of Americans’ daily lives, but it has been neglected for too long — and the cracks are showing. Today in the @washingtonpost, @WalterIsaacson and I lay out the realities of this crisis and the signs of progress being made.
In the 1950s and ‘60s, we looked to the stars to spark a national movement, with investments in science and math education. Today, let’s look to the earth — to the roads, the pipes and the buildings that make our lives possible. The country demands it. And the next generation deserves it.

I just did something really cool with Claude today. I asked it to file the annual report for an LLC. It did everything except submit the payment, which I did manually, but then it captured the receipt, put it in my tax file, and then created a reminder to do it next year before the deadline. People don't realize how much of an efficiency factor this is.

🚨THEY FILLED THE CAR WITH BALLOTS… AND SAID WHO WAS DOING IT
James O’Keefe’s undercover cameras caught it cold.
A ballot harvester in Minnesota shows the trunk and dashboard packed:
“You can see my car is full. All these here are absentee ballots. Can’t you see? Look at all these. My car is full.”
300 in one haul.
When asked who fills them out: “People who work with Ilhan and other candidates… they work for them.”
Cash changes hands. Elders get visited. Blank or open ballots leave the building. Minnesota law limits how many you can carry. Federal law bans the pay-to-vote scheme. None of it mattered.
This is the same machine still fighting every single effort to require citizenship proof and clean the rolls. The same people who call election security “disenfranchisement.”
They never stopped. They just got quieter about the receipts.
Pass the SAVE Act.
Clean the rolls.
End the harvest.
The patriots are done pretending this is normal.

@PramilaJayapal says I-645 would "take money out of YOUR pocket." The tax doesn't start until 2028. The paid ad on her post claims I-645 "raises taxes on small businesses." Only in Olympia does repealing a tax count as raising one.
VOTE YES on I-645 REPEAL THE UNCONSTITUTIONAL TAX

If you see an error or a missing lab in a country you know about, help me by doing what @turhanpathan did.
i.e. send the info via comment or DM and we will add any operational BSL3 or BSL4 labs within 24 hours.

Five of nine WA Supreme Court seats are on your ballot, and every voter in the state votes on all five. Don't skip them!!
My personal picks:
Pos. 1: Scott Edwards, votescottedwards.com
Pos. 3: Judge David Stevens, judgestevensforwa.com
Pos. 4: Judge Sean O'Donnell, odonnellforjustice.com
Pos. 5: Judge Dave Larson, larsonforjustice.com
Pos. 7: Todd Bloom, electtoddbloom.com
All 5 have real courtroom experience, and the view that judges apply the law as written and leave policy to voters and the Legislature

I know you mentioned Beowulf before, and I’m not sure I understand the reference. So for distributed inference latency is the most important because you’re per token you’re sending really small packets many times back and forth. For Qwen 3.6 that would be 256 times per token sending one array of 5210 values (This is from the top of my head, the real numbers could be slightly different).
So the lowest latency is remote direct memory access (RDMA) over Thunderbolt 5. Unfortunately the base M4 and even M6 chips do not support Thunderbolt 5 (hopefully the base M7 will). So while you can cluster them using Ethernet/WiFi, it’s really slow. You will be able to run bigger models than the machine with the least memory can run. I just use Ethernet for testing, it’s not really something I expect people to use.
So for clustering, best use a Mx Pro, Max, or Ultra with a Thunderbolt 5 cable
