Thank you Prime Minister and my dear brother @CMShehbaz, for your warm and generous hospitality, as well as the kindness and friendship you have extended to me.
I am extremely grateful for the highly productive official talks we had today. We engaged in constructive discussions that lay a solid foundation for strengthening our bilateral ties, as we celebrate 60 years of formal diplomatic relations.
We reviewed our longstanding friendship and outlined joint priorities across key sectors, including trade and investment, health and education, environment and tourism, fisheries and agriculture, youth and sports, defence and security, training and capacity-building, as well as regional and multilateral cooperation.
I am pleased that we have agreed to take the bilateral trade between our countries from USD 13 million to USD 200 million within the next 2 years. I also thank you for the invaluable donation to our five million tree planting initiative.
It is a great honour for me and my country, to have been conferred the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) in Politics and International Relations by the
International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI).
Today’s exchange of 20 MoUs opens a dynamic new chapter in Maldives-Pakistan relations. I look forward to taking these initiatives forward as we build a stronger, mutually beneficial partnership!

On World Teachers’ Day, we honour the teachers who guide, inspire and shape the future of our children and our nation.
Their dedication and commitment deserve our gratitude and our continued support. As the teaching profession evolves to meet new challenges, we must ensure that teachers are valued, supported and empowered to fulfil their vital role.
Standing with teachers means investing in the future of our nation.

I would like to convey my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to His Excellency Hang Zheng, Vice President and the friendly people of China, on the joyous occasion of the 77th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.
The Maldives-China ties have undoubtedly reached new heights during the past few years, and I am confident that the close bonds of friendship and understanding that exist between the two countries will continue to strengthen in the coming years.

Today, I feel incredibly proud to have had the opportunity to stand before the 81st United Nations General Assembly and speak on behalf of the Maldives. To stand on one of the world’s most important platforms and speak for my country is an honour I will carry with me.
But beyond the honour, I feel the weight of that responsibility. For SIDS like the Maldives, platforms like the UN are vital. They give every State a voice, large or small. With that voice comes a responsibility to speak for our people, to make ourselves heard, and to make our place at the table count.
