Almost two years later, this holds up.
People should take a moment to imagine the amount of terror, violence, expense and destruction that is going to be necessary to deport TWENTY MILLION people. And also, think the won't just mess up and grab a whole bunch of American citizens while they're at it?

I feel like someone needs to send an email to all Justice Department employees to remind them: investigating private citizens to exact political revenge is, itself, a federal crime.

FETTERMAN can now legitimately be blamed for everything ICE does under Secretary Mullin.

This is HORRIFYING and should scare all of us. ICE is holding people at secret locations for days. We’re demanding immediate answers and a top-to-bottom overhaul of ICE.

The U.S. asylum system isn't broken by accident. A new AILA policy brief documents how the Trump administration has systematically dismantled nearly every pathway to protection. Here's what's happening and what a real fix looks like. 🧵

Close the camps. These are human rights violations.
A 19-year-old in ICE custody killed himself inside the Glades County detention center on Monday. That's 13 deaths in ICE detention in 2026 — average 1 every 4 days. The Biden admin canceled ICE's contract with Glades in 2022, citing egregious violations. Trump restarted it.

As US starves Cuba of energy & food, neocon Cotton wants DOD to be ready for a "humanitarian crisis," "flow of refugees," or "civil disorder" in Cuba Southcom is "prepared to support DHS in a mass migration event" including a "camp to deal with those migrants" at Gitmo, he says

Republicans are so close to figuring out who is responsible for causing mass migration. 👀

Litigation matters. ICE was carrying out arrests so fast they couldn't even provide enough food, water, beds, and showers for people held at processing centers.
New: ICE says it temporarily shut down its Baltimore holding cells to comply with a court order and has since reopened them. The acknowledgement comes a week after we reported the cells were emptied a day before a congressional oversight visit. Story: thebanner.com/politics-power…

ICE is straightforwardly a gestapo secret police now, disappearing people at the president’s personal direction for simply crossing one of his cronies

Just pure evil. White supremacist evil.
DHS has been conducting new interviews with refugees who were already vetted & admitted into the US. According to a former USCIS source with knowledge, Stephen Miller handpicked lawyers to review the re-interviews because "too many people were being reaffirmed as refugees."

What a profoundly evil man.
OMG. Steven Miller is personally picking adjudicators who he thinks will move to strip refugees of their status?! That is an unprecedented level of interference from the White House, and a chilling way in which government can be weaponized.

It is despicable that after the pain and trauma that DHS caused to Liam and his family an immigration judge ruled to deny their asylum. But the fight isn’t over. The ruling is being appealed and we will continue to fight for Liam and for families like his. One thing remains true: We must abolish ICE and dismantle DHS. We must pass my Melt ICE Act.
A federal judge has denied the asylum claim for the family of Liam Conejo Ramos, a 5-year-old Minnesota boy whose arrest by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in January gained national attention. According to a statement from Columbia Heights Public School District, where Ramos attends school, an immigration judge "ended the asylum claims of the family of Liam Conejo Ramos," describing it as a "heartbreaking" development.

Torture. Illegal, unconstitutional, inhuman. Three words that encapsulate the Trump administration.
During each transfer like this, people held in immigration detention are shackled, often at the hands and feet. They are sometimes kept in shackles for hours at a time or overnight. This can be utterly humiliating and painful, especially as many have never been in jail before.
