Thank you, @pitchfork and Maria Sonevytsky. It's an exceptionally well written review, with a deep delve into the relevant context: pitchfork.com/reviews/albums…

If only there was a world-renowned psychoanalyst who extensively studied this particular phenomenon and gave a name to it...
I'm fascinated by the rise of frictionmaxxing as a response to a frictionless life. We engineer away inconvenience, only to discover that some of the friction we removed was part of what made life feel alive in the first place

Learning a language is a leap of faith. Your experience depends on how native speaker culture treats your efforts. Some are like warm waters of onsen. Some are like public swimming pools with Ausweispflicht.

What I think fewer and fewer people realise is that often the key to very deep reading is not thought or knowledge but feeling. I read The Sound and the Fury for the first time entirely with my gut, with my emotions, and only later did I go away and analytically confirm what my body had already told me through those primal processes that exist below or under what we think, in the place that causes the stir in the stomach of happiness and the weight in the chest of grief. For this reason, no computer, no system of bells and lights gathering the data of the whole world, can read a book. Only a human who can be in pain and hope for love can read a book.

philosophy as a form of artistry must be a bit evil. ai companies hire analytic philosophers, who don't understand this, which is why there's no artistry, and a hunger for 'aesthetics.'

there's people who understand there is war, and people who do not. other differences in worldviews are negligible.

We have spent most of this year and past year touring, but I don't think I posted a lot of announcements here. This is our autumn tour as a part of the Swamp Booking family. Check heinali.info/live for regular updates.

Gnarly branches of black metal dead trees meet the cyberpunk glitch. A bosky pixel sorting algorithm overgrown by mold and moss. The modern warfare aesthetics does not originate in hell, it is born in a fault line.

Well, we did not intentionally do this. It is a pretty cool Easter egg, but it had to be left by the Lofty Powers themselves. The lemurs have always loved dope beats.

It is precisely the unrelatableness of the past, the negativity of it, the difference of it, the rare and precious encounter with the Otherness it offers that is interesting and significant about it in our culture of sameness and positivity.
Christopher Nolan has explained why everyone in The Odyssey has an American accent “What I wanted to do with this film was really take a modern audience and throw them into a very relatable world"
