Three waves of ballistic missiles have been launched at Kyiv by Russian “humanitarians” since yesterday evening. They used 21 missiles. Unfortunately, numerous sites across the city have been hit and damaged: ordinary residential buildings, energy facilities, infrastructure at one of the railway stations and the metro, shopping malls, and businesses. Even a monastery is among the damaged sites. Our emergency services are working at all the affected locations. Twelve of our regions came under Russian attack overnight. In Kyiv and across the regions, 34 people were injured, including five children. As of now, two people have been confirmed killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones.
Almost immediately after another round of talks, Russia launched a pointed attack. This means there has been no real change in its attitude toward everything that is happening. It is important to keep trying to find the right solutions to end this war. But when Russia responds to negotiations with ballistic missiles, real pressure on Russia is needed to bring about different steps – steps toward ending the killing. Stronger air defenses and the rapid delivery of missiles, the ability to destroy ballistic missile launchers, sanctions over the war – all of this must be in place. I am grateful to everyone who sees the situation for what it is and acknowledges the reality. The aggressor deserves to be treated accordingly. Ukraine deserves support. People's lives deserve protection. Thank you to everyone who stands with Ukraine!

A great friend of Ukraine, Prime Minister of Finland @PetteriOrpo, experienced this morning what Ukrainians face during russian attacks. Later, we met at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. This is Petteri Orpo’s third visit to our country and an important demonstration of solidarity and support.
I thanked Finland for its consistent defence assistance, support for Ukraine’s energy sector, and contribution to developing our civil protection shelter network. I also stressed the need to further strengthen Ukraine’s air defences to protect our people and cities.
Another key topic was Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. The Verkhovna Rada continues to adopt the necessary EU integration legislation. Four of the six negotiating clusters have now been opened. We look forward to the opening of the remaining clusters and further acceleration of the accession negotiations.
We discussed the possibility of involving Finnish experts in an advisory group that will assist Ukraine on its path towards EU membership, as well as further coordination of our joint efforts within the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) format.
We also discussed increasing sanctions pressure on russia, including restrictions on issuing tourist visas to russian citizens.
Finland remains a reliable partner of Ukraine. I am grateful to Petteri Orpo for his principled stance, his commitment to continuing to support Ukraine, and our shared understanding that only strength, unity, and solidarity can secure a just peace.
Ukraine is not alone. Visits like this are the clearest proof of that.

A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. A “shahed” struck people directly – in a park near an ordinary café. Pure atrocity. Six people were killed, including children. A little girl was killed in a stroller – her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025… Her mother’s name was Inna. She died in the hospital… Another girl who was killed was 11 years old. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, including six more children.
I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine under these circumstances and helps us shoot down “shaheds,” shoot down missiles, and stop Russian assaults. These are horrific photos, but behind them are shattered lives and the truth about this war. Lives must be protected. Ukraine needs air defense. You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue. We ask America to be strong, and we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask that everything possible be done to bring peace and guarantee security. Ukraine wants peace. It is Russia that has insisted on continuing the killing all this time. The world has enough strength to stop the war. That strength must finally be used – against the murderers.
