🚮 STRENGTHENING SANITATION THROUGH MICRO PLAN IMPLEMENTATION! Bengaluru North City Corporation Commissioner Shri Pommala Sunil Kumar inspected sanitation activities and reviewed the implementation of the Micro Plan in 1st Block, B.E.L. 🚧 A COMPREHENSIVE MAKEOVER FOR TIN FACTORY JUNCTION! Building a pedestrian-friendly, commuter-centric mobility hub at KR Puram. Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda has directed officials to prepare an integrated master plan for the redevelopment of Tin Factory Junction, bringing together GBA, Metro authorities and other agencies. Key focus areas include: 🚶 Pedestrian Safety: Safe, uninterrupted footpaths connecting Metro stations, bus stops and public transport facilities. 🚌 Seamless Public Transport: Well-designed bus bays, bus stops and better integration between Metro, buses, autos and taxis. 🚦 Better Traffic Management: Scientific junction redesign, road widening, improved curves and free-left turns for smoother traffic flow. 🛣️ Road Restoration: Prompt restoration of Metro-affected roads and repair of potholes on connecting roads within a week. 🌧️ Improved Infrastructure: Addressing waterlogging, road-level differences, damaged stretches and other civic issues. 🌳 Integrated Urban Development: A comprehensive plan covering roads, footpaths, traffic management, public transport and beautification. WARD ONE CAMPAIGN | PHASE 2 The Ward One campaign has entered its second phase, covering approximately 40 wards across Bengaluru. The first phase covered 43 wards, with nearly 90% of identified works completed. LED Streetlights First Centralised Control and Monitoring System (CCMS) established in Jayanagar at Bengaluru South City Corporation was inaugurated by Hon'ble Greater Bengaluru Development minister Sri Krishna Byre Gowda The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) is taking a major step towards modernising Bengaluru’s streetlighting infrastructure through energy-efficient LED technology and an advanced Centralised Control and Monitoring System (CCMS). 🌟 KEY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE INITIATIVE 🔹 5,00,381 LED Streetlights covered across Greater Bengaluru. 🔹 3,02,919 newly installed LED streetlights. 🔹 1,97,432 existing LED streetlights integrated with CCMS. 🔹 24,677 CCMS units deployed. 🔹 Expected energy savings of over 54%. 🔹 4 dedicated Streetlight Central Control Rooms to be established across GBA. ⚙️ SMART TECHNOLOGY FOR BETTER MONITORING The advanced IoT and GSM-enabled CCMS will facilitate: • Real-time monitoring of streetlight performance and electricity consumption. • Automatic detection of non-glowing, flickering and partially glowing lights. • Automated ON/OFF scheduling. • GPS-based tracking of streetlight assets. • Proactive identification of faults without waiting for citizen complaints. 🚨 FASTER RESPONSE, BETTER ACCOUNTABILITY • Dedicated field maintenance teams to address faults. • Streetlight complaints targeted for resolution within 24–48 hours of identification or registration. • Automatic penalties for contractors failing to resolve issues within the prescribed timelines. 💡 WELL-LIT STREETS, SAFER BENGALURU Improved streetlighting will enhance road visibility, strengthen public safety and security, reduce energy wastage and improve the delivery of essential civic services.
