A brief throwaway movie line that I think about all the time in Congress and the U.S. government, delivered by Captain Kirk in Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan- “You have to learn why things work on a Starship.”
“If we don’t win, there’s no money”
Conditioning faithful execution of the law on election support is the basic definition of government corruption. Even Republican voters know that isn’t how the American system is supposed to work. He’s doing this at every rally in every state.
Anyone who thinks he’s joking or that this is acceptable in any way should read about the people he’s threatening. That’s the word for it: it’s a threat, and the people he’s threatening are Marines who served and then got cancer because they were exposed to poison. This is sick.
Camp Lejeune veterans and their families have been pleading for help for years. Their stories are heartbreaking.
I wrote about them here: washingtonpost.com/politics/…
The president says here that he will only fund help for these families if his party does well in an election.
Trump says that if Republicans lose in North Carolina he will use the power of his office to deny US Marine Corps veterans’ claims for medical treatment for cancer and other life threatening diseases resulting from decades of water contamination by toxic chemicals at Camp Lejeune
Whole lotta data points suggesting that the outside spending advantage that was supposed to be the Republican firewall in House races has done little or nothing for them.
The polling seems more mixed on that question in the Senate — but that could just be herding or bet hedging

He’s a bad person and he deserves to lose badly.

New Rule: an ad that features a mom denouncing a daughter whom she lost custody of because her husband raped the child when she was 12 is not an effective communication
Hell yeah go get em @FPWellman
Wow CLF made a $650K buy in #MO02 for GOP Rep Ann Wagner
This is a Trump +8 seat but has gotten little attention before now. Dem nominee Fred Wellman outraised Wagner last quarter
NRCC going up on the air in Florida-16 !?
NEW -- The NRCC has placed a hybrid by with SYDNEY GRUTERS' campaign in the Tampa media market. $238,179 so far.
Gruters, the RNC chair's wife, has an unusually tough race in Rep. Vern Buchanan's seat. It's an Trump+14.....
People overuse the word “desperate” in campaign contexts but this genuinely reeks of desperation by the Ramaswamy campaign. Hard to think anyone would mistake this for a good idea - which it manifestly is not - unless they thought they were losing by an insurmountable deficit

We were investigating Wedgewood for faking their data and emailed them for comment this morning, ahead of publishing the findings tomorrow. They are trying to cover up their fraud with the "we were doing a social experiment" excuse.

The polling industry needs major reform. Our statement below:
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Wedgewood Polls released this statement after FiftyPlusOne contacted them regarding evidence of fabricated poll data. They had shared fraudulent raw data the prior day and raised crowdfunding for polls presented as legitimate.

As WNC man @Fritschner knows well, can never take anything in that part of the county for granted & this is one to run through the tape, but @JamieAgerNC has run a model race. (Big tip of hat to @GraysonForNC)
Their “social experiment” raised what appears to be at least $500 very real dollars on GoFundMe for a poll of Nebraska. Seems this “wake-up call” may actually be an admission of a minor criminal enterprise

Crazy to think where we would be at right now if Musk had not thrown $350M to the GOP this cycle

YIKES -- Trump loses his shit at a reporter for the third time during this Q&A -- "Wait wait -- Quiet. Quiet!!!! What's wrong with you? Are you a SICK person?"
Several of these seats are rated Lean D by analysts, yet Republicans are triaging top targets and moving money into places like #VA02 where they’re expected to lose.
Keeping promises to incumbents is likely driving the strategy; we may see some finger pointing over this later.
Replying to @allymutnick
And CLF is doubling down with $9M across six new GOP-held districts:
#AZ06 - Juan Ciscomani
#MI04 - Bill Huizenga
#VA02 - Jen Kiggans
#PA08 - Rob Bresnahan
#WI03 - Derrick Van Orden
#SC01 - OPEN
