Got a new toy today! It's #Anbernic #RG353PS, a handheld game console running #linux full of emulators. It has pretty good feature set, and overall build quality is really high. Let's make it even better by booting #Debian on it!

Looks like the vendor kernel has hardcoded root partition UUID, it's ignoring custom arguments passed via uboot

Aaaand I've just accidentally overwritten parition table on the microsd card... Well, that's a sign that I should get some sleep and get back to it tomorrow ;)

We got this #unitel and it's cutee! Basically a rebranded #minitel, manufactured by Alcatel for polish market. Connected via serial to a #linux machine by @jpolgesek. Sloowly loading @polprogpl website with #lynx. Any nice looking text websites which we can load on it?

And the best of all? After replacing the long dead print head and ordering new-old-stock ink cartridges, it still works! Just look at it go!

And the prints seem to be usable, even by today's standards. It's not like you can print a photo on it, but for a quick printout of a document, it's more than enough.

To be fair it's dpad mouse is pretty usable 🐁🐁🐁 To bad that console has only 256MB RAM. Also seeing this is kinda cursed. #rg35xx #debian

Next project! We don't want to say what it is yet, however it's realted to this nice passenger. Pink #Sony #Trinitron! @jpolgesek put a lot of effort in it. Also @polprogpl helping us a lot. We're not able to do what we originally want due to lack custom ic, still should be fun!

Few things were tested locally using minivmac, but most of the development was tested on real hardware. We've used Macintosh SE/30 with 32 MB RAM and 40 MB hard drive. Networking was done via Ethernet card, with MacTCP version 2.0.6.

For real hardware testing, we've used a floppy disk to exchange builds. We've also used MacsBug debugger to have a bit easier time with debugging. In the end, after more than 200 builds, we have a semi-working server. It is not perfect, but it is enough to have some fun with it.
