Thank you to the Buffalo Ghostbusters Fan Club for their support!   The funds will be used to help the FDNY save lives, protect property, and to support equipment, training, and education for FDNY members and fire and life safety outreach in the community.
The Buffalo Ghostbusters Fan Club presented the FDNY Foundation with a $37,000 check on Friday at Ladder 8 in Manhattan. The money was raised during Ghostbusters Day at the firehouse in June and helps support the Foundation's lifesaving mission.

Hot Dog—the FDNY's official fire safety mascot—is helping New Yorkers charge into fire safety across the five boroughs. Safe charging starts with some simple habits: ⚠️ Wherever possible, charge and store lithium-ion batteries outside. 🔌 Don't overload power strips or extension cords. 👀 Look for warning signs, like scorch marks, flickering lights or burning smells. 🔋 Purchase and use only UL-certified batteries and devices. You don't need a cape to be a hero. Safe charging is a superpower, and YOU have the power to keep NYC safe! #FirePreventionWeek

We are ending our Fire Prevention Week safety tips with No. 5: ALWAYS charge and store lithium-ion batteries responsibly. Where possible, charge and store them OUTSIDE. Never dispose of these batteries in household trash—it's dangerous and illegal. Go to FDNYSmart.org for more fire and life safety resources.

The FDNY Foundation honors and remembers the eleven FDNY members lost this year and their bravery, dedication, service, and sacrifice to the FDNY and the people and City of New York. They will never be forgotten.
Every year, thousands of FDNY members and the families of the fallen gather at the Firemen's Memorial in Manhattan to remember and honor those we lost over the past year. This year, we honored 11 members, including two who died in the line of duty. "The 11 FDNY members we honor today were incredible people. They took an oath to protect and serve the people of New York City, and they acted out that oath every single day," Fire Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore said. "They lived with honor and they served with courage. Today, we pay tribute to our fallen members the way the FDNY always has—with silence in ceremony, wearing our uniforms proudly, carrying respect and love for their families. Remembering matters." Chief of Department John Esposito said: "It is important that we honor our fallen members and that we remember how they lived their lives and that we never allow their names to be forgotten. The traditions of this Department are strong, and nothing demonstrates that more than the turnout on Memorial Day." We will Never Forget our fallen members: - Paramedic Salih Abdur-Rahman, Station 16* - Lieutenant Patrick Brady, Ladder 120* - Firefighter Joseph Herman, Ladder 111 - Firefighter Aaron Clark, Rescue 1 - EMS Lieutenant James McGee IV, Station 54 - EMT Emilio "Pete" Martinez, Station 10 - EMT Frederick Benjamin, Station 43 - Firefighter Karan Thadhani, Ladder 135 - EMS Lieutenant Paul Ardizzone, EMS SOC - Paramedic Willie Marshall Jr., Station 26 - Lieutenant Michael Peirano, Engine 8 *Died in the line of duty

We thank Kidde so much for their continued support of the FDNY and FDNY Foundation!
FDNY Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore, First Deputy Commissioner Daniel Flynn and Department members joined Kidde Fire Safety for its Cause for Alarm Breakfast on Thursday in Manhattan. Kidde is an important partner to the FDNY and the FDNY Foundation in the ongoing fight to reduce residential fire deaths. Working smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms save lives by quickly giving you and your loved ones an early warning signal that something is wrong.

Congrats to the newly promoted 81 FDNY members!
The FDNY promoted members on Thursday at a ceremony at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island, welcoming members into leadership and promoting members to higher ranks. "Some of you are already officers moving on to the next rank with years of experience leading others. Many of you are taking the first step to lieutenant and starting your climb," Chief of Department John Esposito said. "Whether it is your first promotion or your fourth or fifth, leadership is more than a rank or a title. It is a responsibility every time you start a tour to make sure that your members are prepared and to do everything in your power to make sure that every member makes it home safely." The group included promotions to the following ranks: Deputy Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, Battalion Chief, Captain, Supervising Fire Marshal, Lieutenant and Marine Engineer. The promoted members will be assigned to units across New York City.
