The @TheIHRA definition on Antisemitism is an educational tool to assist in recognising and reflecting on Antisemitism, not an instrument to denounce or silence others
I welcome the Bell Report

A national Memorial begins with a shared responsibility to remember.
Watch this 3-minute film introducing What Britain Knew? - the UK Holocaust Memorial and Learning Centre exhibition opening in Parliament before travelling to parliaments and legislatures across the UK.
Today @EricPickles and I launched the @UKHMF exhibition in the UK Parliament showcasing the Holocaust Memorial and Learning Centre, as reported in @JewishChron
Spades in the ground for Holocaust Memorial Centre before Burnham leaves Downing Street, pledges Ed Balls - The Jewish Chronicle thejc.com/news/politics/holo…
This is a hugely important article by Conservative Party leader, @KemiBadenoch .
Kemi is right to challenge today’s sanctions on trade with settlements. These measures reflect a longstanding problem within the Labour Party: a repeated hostility towards Israel and a failure to take seriously the safety and interests of the British Jewish community.
Labour’s de facto boycott of Israel would not only damage trade and business, it would also risk our national security. By undermining the vital intelligence relationship with Israel, this risks weakening the cooperation that helps protect British citizens from terrorism.

The new Shadow Foreign Secretary is right.
Sanctioning Israel would do serious harm to our own national security, as well as being a morally indefensible move that further singles out and demonises the world's only Jewish state and a close ally.
And it gets worse - this move would put the UK in the position of interfering in another country's democracy given elections in Israel are just weeks away.
This will do serious harm to our credibility when we, for example, criticise Russia and other autocratic states for interfering in Western democracies.
We thank @TomTugendhat for standing up against the government on this issue.

This is a joke from the police inspectorate.
Instead of yet another pointless and bureaucratic review, we just need the police to uphold the law.
The racist thugs who planned to attack Jewish fans should be arrested and prosecuted
Officers who invented evidence to ban Jewish fans from Birmingham and then lied to the public should all be fired.
Sectarian politicians who campaigned to ban Jewish fans from Birmingham should be held to account
The useless PCC who allowed it all to happen should be booted out too

"I fully support Israel’s right to defend herself against the evil of Hamas. That should never result in hostility towards the Jewish community in the UK, but we know from past experience some will try.
"These attacks were intended to show peace is impossible, but we know it is not. The world may have changed since the Abraham Accords but there is hope for the future, so long as we overcome those who try to divide us."

Nigel Huddleston consistently stood up against antisemitism and anti-Israel hatred within Britain's cultural and sporting institutions, many of which received taxpayer funding, during his time in the post.
We thank him for these efforts and wish him well for the future.
After seven years on the frontbench, in both Government and Opposition, I will be returning to the backbenches.
It has been an enormous privilege to serve in a number of roles during that time, most recently as Shadow Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, alongside a hugely talented team.
The DCMS brief has been a particularly special one for me. I worked in these sectors before entering parliament and know they make an enormous contribution not only to our economy, but to our national life, our communities and Britain’s place in the world.
I have been incredibly proud to champion them and to meet so many remarkable people working across the sectors.
I am hugely grateful to my team, and everyone who has worked with me, shared their expertise, and supported me during my time in this role.
I would like to wish Rebecca Paul every success as she takes on the brief. I know she will bring great energy and commitment to the role.
Under Kemi Badenoch's leadership, the Conservative Party has what it takes to win the next general election with a credible manifesto that can deliver a better future for my constituents and the country. I look forward to playing my part in achieving that goal.
I agree with Priti. There can be no lasting peace so long as Hamas retain weapons. Everything goes back to this reality
Replying to @pritipatel
The ongoing vilification of Israel by Labour is reckless and irresponsible. It risks fanning the flames of antisemitic sentiments, which puts the Jewish community at risk, and it shows a lack of understanding of the complexities of the situation in the Middle East.
Since the ceasefire was agreed last October, Hamas has refused to give up its arms, continues to terrorise civilians and violates the ceasefire agreement and yet almost all the condemnation we hear from Labour is directed towards Israel.
Under Burnham Labour is spreading dangerous rhetoric.

Price rises are accelerating once again under Labour. We left inflation bang on the 2% target, now it has been above that level for 22 months in a row.
Labour’s mismanagement has left us unprepared for global shocks. It is ordinary people who are left paying the price.
The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rose by 2.9% in the 12 months to July 2026, up from 2.6% in the 12 months to June 2026.

Tax Freedom Day was 6th June this year. That's the date you stopped working for the taxman and started earning for yourself.
It’s the latest it’s ever been and under Labour it’ll become later still.
Let’s cut welfare spend and get taxes DOWN.
