This week, @AnthropicAI and Entelect co-hosted more than 90 engineers and technology leaders from @AbsaSouthAfrica , xBigly, @Discovery_SA, @FNBSA, @RMBCIB, @Momentum_za, @MTN, @Nedbank, @OldMutualSA, @Sanlam, @StandardBankZA, and Valterra for a @claudeai Code Workshop. The event brought AI Applied Engineering to life through a three-hour, hands-on session led by Francois Zimmerman and Kevin Fender. Attendees had the opportunity to experiment with Claude Code, develop practical skills, and explore how AI can be embedded across the software delivery lifecycle. As a preferred partner in the Claude Partner Network, this workshop marked our first joint event with Anthropic and an important step towards helping enterprise organisations accelerate the adoption and implementation of AI Applied Engineering within their technology teams. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making the event such a success. We look forward to continuing this journey and enabling more organisations to unlock the potential of AI in software engineering.

Junaid calls it the bedrock: the same people-first model Entelect started with 25 years ago is still exactly how it runs today. Hundreds of projects, hundreds of challenges, tech changes, downturns and hype years. The same answer every time, we've had your back, and we still do.

Formats change. Devices get replaced. Some ideas just keep playing. 25 years of possibility, and counting.

August is Women's Month in South Africa, and we're celebrating the women who are building the future of tech. For almost a decade, Entelect has partnered with GirlCode to create more opportunities for women in STEM. From coding workshops and mentorship to CV reviews, interview preparation and career guidance, it's been a privilege to support women as they develop new skills and take the next step in their careers. Thank you to GirlCode, our Entelect volunteers, and every woman who has been part of this journey. Your curiosity, determination and willingness to pay it forward are what make this partnership so meaningful.

Charlotte Kruger describes herself as "the guide, not the hero", which feels like the perfect summary of a career built on facilitation. From software engineering in South Africa to impact banking in the Netherlands, she's spent nearly ten years at Entelect learning that the best work happens when you create the conditions for other people to do theirs. Read her story on what it takes to build a truly inclusive tech industry: eu1.hubs.ly/H0wHLXT0

If you're taking a mid-year holiday, it's worth asking a question: if something breaks while you're away, does your team know how fast they need to fix it, and how much data they can afford to lose? RPO and RTO aren't just acronyms for the ops team, they're the difference between a minor hiccup and a very unpleasant call on day three of your leave. Iaan Roux breaks down what these actually mean in practice and details five steps to take now so your systems can hold their own while you're off the grid: eu1.hubs.ly/H0wC7tC0
