At Surin Hospital in Thailand, the main cancer referral centre for the country’s northeast, the clinical team is expanding access to radiotherapy for patients who often travel long distances to receive care. Behind this achievement are the radiation oncologists and medical physicists making it possible every day. They are introducing IMRT, VMAT, SRS, SRT and SBRT on one Elekta Harmony Pro platform, using a single beam model and seamless beam matching across the department to support efficient treatment workflows. ▶️ Hear their story: bit.ly/4AWiRBC

Behind every trigeminal neuralgia diagnosis is a person whose daily life may be impacted by sudden, severe facial pain. For those living with the condition, even a breeze or a smile can trigger pain. Medication and surgery can help, but they don’t work for everyone. For appropriately selected patients, Leksell Gamma Knife may be considered as a non-invasive treatment alternative.

Elekta and Siemens Healthineers have signed a letter of intent to work on standards-based interoperability between their oncology platforms. For healthcare providers using technologies from multiple vendors, exchanging and using information across systems can be complex. Through this intended joint effort, Elekta and Siemens Healthineers will explore how semantic interoperability could improve the exchange and consistent interpretation of information across their respective oncology platforms, while continuing to innovate independently. We look forward to sharing more as the project progresses.
