If you think the universe is demanding a piece of you, ask it if it wants to take it outside or if it wants to take it upstairs.
At least you’ll find out what piece of you the universe is interested in.

Iowa law requires election officials to initial each ballot before handing it to a voter. This is routine and do not affect your ballot’s validity. Your ballot will be counted. Questions? Contact your trusted election officials or visit voterready.iowa.gov #TrustedInfo2026
Of all the annoyances that can happen during voting hours, this is the one that objectively sucks.
Dealt with two Early Voting power outages in 2018, one in 2022 on primary day. In FL. In August. No issues with voting equipment(backup battery FTW!)
Screw it. All anyone does anymore is turn the crank for the outrage machine.
I think I’m done making a good-faith effort to help people. Convince me otherwise.

Sometime in 1983, in the northwest Valley, an unknown prankster altered the "Valley Cir" sign (for Valley Circle Boulevard) to read "Valley Girl" -- a playful reference to the newly released movie of the same name. Like, omigod!

The @lacountyrrcc has (with several days notice this time) posted the schedule for the mobile and flex vote centers online. Since the Dodgers aren't in the World Series October 25 and 29 at Dodger Stadium or November 1 at SoFi stadium are options.
Hi. I’m Genya. When I’m not ranting about ballots behaving badly, I’m a purveyor of unhinged historical facts, cybersecurity scuttlebutt, and occasional fashion advice.
Florida is a paper ballot state. There’s an ADA-compliant machine for disabled voters at each site required by law, but the vast majority of voters vote using a regular paper ballot. Which county/EV site reported a problem? Specifics matter.
There is a very disturbing trend being seen in early voting. Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Ohio are reporting difficulties getting the machines to accept democratic votes. The machines change them back to Republican unless the voter persists, pressing several times to get the correct vote to go through.
Check your machine, check to see that it accepted the correct vote. Make sure your voice counts.

Two critical vulnerabilities have been identified in PHP, a widely used programming language that powers websites and web applications. These vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619) could allow malicious cyber actors to remotely execute code in PHP core, potentially compromising sensitive data and networks.
The FBI urges organizations to take the following steps now:
➡️ If an immediate update is not feasible it is recommended that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated.
➡️ Immediately update affected PHP installations following the guidance on php.net. Inventory where PHP runs in your environment, prioritizing internet-facing systems and vendor products that bundle PHP.
➡️ Monitor web servers for suspicious activity, including PHP processes unexpectedly launching command shells or downloading files. Ensure appropriate process-monitoring capabilities are in place to help identify potential exploitation.
➡️ If you find signs of compromise, isolate affected systems, preserve your web server and PHP logs, and report it to your local FBI field office or ic3.gov. Those reports help us identify the actors involved and warn other organizations before they become victims.
For the latest information, follow PHP’s announcement on php.net, CERT-EU Security Advisory 2026-018, and CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog.
Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.
I told you prediction markets created perverse incentives.
But there’s bigger shit to worry about right now, like the Armageddon that’s about to hit PHP like a freight train on a 20% downhill grade and the track’s covered in bacon grease.

Regardless of what qualifications, awards, or accolades they receive in life, if I raise my children to become adults who don’t use their turn signals, I will have failed.
Men under age 30: for those of you who are shape rotators, is this something that’s intuitive and you don’t need to think about it or do you need to take a minute to strategize about the rotation or shift first?
Input welcome. Thank you!
