Held a #PublicDarbar in #Kishtwar today, engaging with a large number of people to address their concerns.
Several issues were resolved on the spot, while directions were issued for the time-bound resolution of others.
LoP Sh. Sunil Sharma, MLA Ms. Shagun Parihar and DC Sh. Pankaj Sharma were also present, among others.
Since 2014, Kishtwar has witnessed a remarkable transformation in road connectivity, telecom services and basic infrastructure. Before 2014, reaching Kishtwar safely was itself a challenge, mobile connectivity was scarce, and the Machail Yatra route lacked even basic amenities like toilet, electricity or mobile tower.
PM Shri @narendramodi ji’s visit to Kishtwar in December 2014 marked a renewed commitment to prioritising regions long neglected and ensuring focused development. That commitment continues to shape Kishtwar’s journey towards progress.

In the high seismic zone of #Kishtwar, inaugurated the new Seismological Observatory. The new Earthquake related observatory is equipped with state-of-the-art digital seismic equipment and will transmit data in real time to the 24x7 Earthquake Monitoring Centre of the National Centre for Seismology in New Delhi.
It was only after the @narendramodi government took over in 2014 that the 'India Meteorology Department' (IMD) strengthened the weather monitoring network in the region from not a single Doppler Weather Radar in 2014 to 4 installed in last 12 years and 4 more being installed now making it total 8; Automatic Weather Stations from 3 to 12 out of which 4 for Kishtwar and 2 each for Doda and Ramban.
A High Altitude Cloud Physics Laboratory has been installed at a height at Nathatop, near Patnitop.
The rainfall monitoring network has also been expanded, with the number of Rain Gauge Stations increasing from nine to 15 across the five districts of the Udhampur parliamentary constituency.
The expansion of weather monitoring infrastructure has also strengthened the region's disaster preparedness in an area that is vulnerable to earthquakes, landslides and other weather-related challenges.
The result is that the recent Machhail Yatra in district Kishtwar could be conducted smoothly with real time early warning systems, ensuring that a catastrophe like the Chasoti cloud burst of last year does not happen again.
Met Delegations before the outreach public durbar at #Kishtwar, #JammuAndKashmir, and listened to the concerns and issues raised by local citizens. LoP Sh Sunil Sharma and DC Sh Pankaj Sharma were also present.
Discussed their grievances and issued directions to the administration and the concerned administration for timely resolution.
Reiterated the commitment to addressing public grievances, strengthening grassroots governance and ensuring that the concerns of the people receive due attention.
Inaugurated the "Seismological Observatory, Kishtwar, Jammu & Kashmir", established by the National Centre for Seismology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, at the District Employment & Counselling Centre (DE&CC), alongside Leader of Opposition and MLA, J&K, Shri Sunil Sharma Ji, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Dr. Srinivasa Kumar, MLA, Kishtwar Assembly Constituency, Smt. Shagun Parihar Ji, Director, National Centre for Seismology (NCS), Dr. G. Suresh, DC Sh Pankaj Sharma, SSP Sh. Sunny Gupta, senior officials and other dignitaries.
Located in the seismically active Himalayan region, the observatory will strengthen earthquake monitoring, seismic research and disaster preparedness, contributing to improved understanding of seismic activity and enhanced regional resilience.

Thanks to the Indian Army for organising a 2 Day Mega Medical Speciality Camp at the Advanced Landing Ground (ALG), #Kishtwar in #JammuAndKashmir.
Kishtwar is a geographically challenging region, with several remote and far-flung areas where access to specialised healthcare facilities can be difficult for local residents. This camp provides an important opportunity for people to receive medical consultations, undergo health check-ups and access essential healthcare services closer to their homes.
A large number of local residents, expected to be over three thousand per day, including people from remotest villages, are to benefit from this medical camp through consultations and treatment by medical specialists.
Such camps also help healthcare providers to identify common health concerns in the region and create arrangements as well as awareness about timely diagnosis and treatment.
The Indian Army has consistently extended its support to local communities, going beyond its core security responsibilities, to serve people in difficult-to-reach areas, thus further strengthening its bond of trust and goodwill with the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

People come from far and wide to purchase these goods, and we also provide delivery services. I work alongside my two sons and a helper; in fact, our entire family is involved in this craft.
