Facebook just reminded me I started my tech journey 8 years ago. I went from data entry to Frontend dev in 8 months. From $15/hr to jumping into an industry that offered 100k+ salaries w/ 2-3 years of experience. All before graduation w/ a degree in psychology & art
Today Iβm wrapping up some research on a new algorithm Iβm building
I canβt talk openly about the research until the patent is submitted, but this has been the most interesting thing Iβve ever built!
Mostly because I been building attacker to prover my algorithm works
Moving to director and already hearing the possibility of moving to vp was not on my bingo card.
I made a big decision that will happen the end of this month but now Iβm second guessing it π
She just texted me and told me I should include a feature I didnβt think about
And this means I can build out the wearable idea Iβve had since 2016 without the overhead cost
Bathroom remodel will be done next week!
Custom kitchen cabinets will be built next week!
The equipment came in to paint the outside of my house!
Not only did I make the impossible happen by buying a home in California, Iβm making it my home βΊοΈ
Iβm really living the saying if you canβt join them beat em
I donβt think thatβs the saying but that the mood
Testing out the updates I made to the platform Iβve been building.
I sent it over to my therapist friend and she was amazed I got so many things right, she canβt wait to use it.
I want to give a live update but everything I write sounds so dramatic
Idk why Iβve over thinking posting on this platform
I had no care before
Iβm working with really cool founders to build out products that make a real difference.
Iβm also working on the final stages of [Redacted] and itβs coming out better than expected!
Iβm thinking a lot about what I want to teach my child
Both the explicit and implicit lessons
And this honestly feels like the most self aware and honestly self assessment Iβve had
Itβs like putting a mirror in front of all the things I canβt hide
I want to talk about my experience in tech and how itβs changed since Iβve had a lot of life changes but
One, I have a different relationship w/ social media now
two, I donβt feel like itβs the inspirational journey Iβve been on and it doesnβt feel that fun to share

Iβm kind of saddened by how many people are not informed of mental illnesses, the signs of them and how they manifest.
The mind can be a scary place that does its best to protect itself. When your emotions go unaddressed from trauma or chronic stress, neuro-chemical fluctuations and lack of knowledge of affected hormones due to nutrition or even drug use, can trigger an illness.
There are of course external factors that contribute but people need to give themselves a fighting chance by being more informative by managing the internal factors.
The first time I flew I was so nervous I forgot to do my final checkin with my mom before I got on the flight.
Once I got off the lady at the gate called me by name and said she spoke to my mother who call to make sure the flight took off and landed ok.
She did it w/o tech
I always think about this when Iβm thinking about what Iβm building and how I think it will have a large impact because itβs tech.
Itβs a simply way to ground myself and think outside of the tech bubble
Is there a service out there that I can video call a repair service and have them tell me the steps of how to fix something?
@KristyT I feel like you might have an answer π
