The security man in our office didn't come to work today because his wife put to bed.
The tradition in our office is that whenever a staff member has a major celebration, like a wedding or child dedication, everyone contributes ₦20,000 towards a gift and support.
So HR said we shouldn't wait until the baby dedication since the man would really need the money now. The company would sort it out first and then deduct the ₦20,000 contribution from each of our salaries at the end of the month.
There are 11 of us in the office, so the plan was for everyone to contribute ₦20,000, making ₦220,000 in total. ₦20,000 would be used to buy diapers, while the remaining ₦200,000 would be transferred to his account.
Then a lady in Accounting said, "Why should we contribute ₦20,000 for a common gateman? He doesn't even earn up to that amount as salary. She has a lot of expenses this month. Let's just do ₦5,000 each."
The annoying part is that this same lady had an appendix operation not long ago, and nobody complained when the whole office contributed to support her.
Some people are naturally wicked.

My brother @zaharaddeenANu1, a native of Adamawa— and a Second Class (Upper Division) graduate of Economics from the University of Abuja—narrates his experience during the Nigerian Customs Service (NSC) recruitment, including how he travelled from Abuja to Yola for the test, and how he slept on the road when their car broke down. All because of the same exercise. He made the last stage of the exercise but couldn’t emerge amongst those selected after two years.
If there is one thing I appreciate Zahradeen for, then it’s his relentless efforts to apply for jobs countlessly despite countless rejections. He never gives up.
Just of recent, he travelled to Lagos for an interview. He had made the final stages of several exercises as well.
I am very proud of you my brother. You will soon smile. Insha Allah.

A man helped me carry the battery I bought in the market a few weeks ago. He charged ₦1000.
As we were approaching where the driver parked, He asked why I didn’t give the other man money when he asked.
My response was short: “I find it easy to support people who are already selling something, even if it’s little.”
Then I asked him: why did I give you ₦3,000 when your service is ₦1000? he couldn’t answer.
So I hit him again: if that "able man" begs 100 people in this market every day, and 50 people give him ₦1,000 each, he just made ₦50,000 from just begging, and he will be richer than you, who is working harder and legitimately.
Then I asked him: will you be happy if I collect the extra ₦2,000 I gave you and hand it over to that man? He said no. Checkmate.
My point? Help people, but don’t strengthen entitlement.
When people earn something, they value it more. How can you be angry at people for not giving you free money you can't give yourself?

If you Owe someone money and the person choose to get you arrested with the Police just because you are owing.
Don't fear, this is what you need to do
Kindly ask the officer for his ID and station he is attached to, pass the information to someone around
If the Officer refuse to show you his ID, kindly blow small alarm to alert people around cos they will be your witness when you come back.
Kindly tell the Officer that this is a civil matter and you should not be arrested for such but, if the Officer feels cool to breach your fundamental human right, you won't resist arrest
When you get to the station, take note of the file number your case is registered on
They will surely grant you bail cos you did not commit a crime in the first place.
When you come out
You will file a suit against the Officer and the person who reported you to him for arrest
1. Breach of Your Fundamental Human Right
2. Unlawful Arrest
3. Harassment
You will demand for damages in the suit as follows
1. Damages for Breach of fundamental human right ( 5 Million naira damages)
2. Unlawful arrest (3 Million)
3. Harassment (5M)
4. Medical Damages (2M cos the mosquito bites at the Police cell has affected your Liver)
5. Emotional Damages (700k)
6. Legal cost (1.5M)
Owing is not a crime and the Police do not have the right to arrest you for owing
Ignorance of the law is no excuse
