Let's be clear. A closure/lockdown of Hebron means a closure for Palestinians. Israeli settlers will just continue their lives as usual.
Israeli PM Netanyahu says he has instructed the military and security forces to ‘immediately impose a closure on the city of Hebron’.
The move follows an early-morning shooting at the city’s northern entrance.

In a darkened room of the Jordan Museum in Amman stand some of the strangest and most haunting figures ever made. They are about nine thousand years old. Pale, flat, almost life-sized, with long necks and stubby hands, they stare out at you with huge almond eyes ringed in black bitumen, as if they had just woken from a very long sleep. Which, in a sense, they have.

Deep in the black basalt desert east of Amman stands a small, honey-coloured bathhouse that is one of the most surprising buildings in the Islamic world. Qusayr 'Amra was built in the 720s or 730s for the Umayyad prince al-Walid ibn Yazid, "a passionate drinker with prodigious skill and energy as a musician," who came here to hunt, bathe and drink far from the disapproving eyes of Damascus.
