Arrived @unionstationla: 8:30. Departed late just after 12 > Oxnard > Ventura 1:45 < Oxnard @ 2 > going north again @ 3 >>> finally arriving at Monterey @ 11:35
In just 10 hours after departing LA Union Station, we made it to Salinas 🥱

In other news… the cafe cart is closed. And we are currently investigating alternate ways to heat up leftover 🌯. Maybe a hand warmer wrapped in a jacket will work?
❗️Breaking News❗️one of our bags was left in LA. Correction, the bag was placed on a different train headed for Chicago. Correction, the train conductor is driving it back to LA and sending it to Salinas.
After zero cellphone service, we’re back. Things that happened while we were gone. We left the coast after Lompoc ✅. Watched the sunset 🌅. Saw lots and lots of cows 🐄. More to come!

UPDATE: Coast Starlight Train 14, which departed Los Angeles (LAX) on 10/17, is on the move and currently operating approx. 1hr 55min late. The train will be further delayed south of Santa Barbara (SBA) to assist passengers from disabled Train 765.
After a 2-hour delay, we’ve made it to Simi Valley. Just a short 8 hours to go 👍
This year, Compiler is taking the Coast Starlight @Amtrak from Union Station to Monterey for our fall retreat. Follow us for our journey!
