Your comments are deeply disturbing. President Machel died in South Africa coming from a meeting in Lusaka which concerned itself about the liberation of the oppressed people in South Africa and elsewhere. This is deeply revealing of the type of politics you and your party advance. Peace loving South Africans know that the costs of freedom was borne not only by South Africans, the frontline states like Mozambique also paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

If you read the biographies of the others, including the incumbent President Malatji, they are much fuller and give proper context insofar as their contributions and leadership are concerned. But when it comes to Juju, it is reduced to just three lines of what appears to be insignificant information and a political jab or shade. Honestly, it comes across as petty, and almost like political expediency. Irrespective of what one thinks of the man in the current political context, his two terms as ANCYL President carry significant historical value. That period was rich and important in understanding the youth politics, issues and agenda of that generation. This was a youth generation that, in a very radical way, helped define youth issues, the political agenda and the politics of its time. The whole “Economic Freedom in Our Lifetime” campaign was radically championed by the ANCYL under its collective leadership, led by Juju as President. Nationalisation of the mines was also one of the key components we pushed as part of the broader struggle for economic freedom in our lifetime. The ANCYL under President @Julius_S_Malema itself clearly documented those positions and its political programme at the time. Whether one agrees with those positions being now attributed or not, or whatever the political realities may be today, is a different conversation. History is history, and it has no blank pages. Those chapters deserve to be recorded honestly and with the necessary context, rather than being reduced to a few lines simply because of how we may feel about the person today. If we truly believe Amilcar Cabral when he said, “Hide nothing from the masses of our people. Tell no lies. Expose lies whenever they are told. Mask no difficulties, mistakes, failures. Claim no easy victories,” then we should never allow political expediency to shape our consciousness, or our conscience, when it comes to political history and the record of our own past. – at Milnerton, South Africa
