As the rich-quick indie AI prods keep launching, marketing will again be the differentiator for most winners
Replying to @ihorstefurak
• A marketing strategy is essential, and winging it won't cut it. Most of those who launched after me relied on Twitter for user acquisition. I knew from the get-go that I needed a more comprehensive approach.

Marketers aren't worried about AI. Here's what marketers heard during the last 20 years of digital/internet upending our industry (guess how much came true): Search would let people find what they wanted without advertising... Social media would let people would decide what they wanted to buy from their friends instead of marketing... Self serve ad networks would mean no one needed media buyers... Influencers would let businesses stop relying on advertising... All that actually happened was people needed more marketers and more advertising for ever-evolving new tactics. AI won't be any different for us

Folks don't seem to realize marketers have been here 100x times before in the digital age. Just like everyone was going to run their own ads, send their own emails, optimize own websites, right? Marketers are who you call to stand out, all these tools do is move that bar.
“Copywriters are not a thing anymore because of generative AI” - direct quote from a founder at SaaSOpen talking about their marketing team.

At some point it would be really nice if those of us trying to run companies could go a solid 12 months without a once-in-a-generation black-swan macroeconomic event

You need to master the technique of making a pan sauce. This is something every self-respecting cook should know. Plus it's a perfect one-pan way to get a healthy, delicious steak sauce in the time it takes to rest your meat. Here's how to make one.

No branded search spend at least
the new kia logo is so unreadable that at least 30k people a month search for the "KN car" ever since its debut

Been too deep in this site that I know exactly who he means but also can't help identify
what's that guy with the crazy name like GREGELY who always talks about startups hiring and firing and lives in Amsterdam?
The startup graveyard is filled with too many great products without sales and marketing. Please don't be that founder. – at San Mateo, CA
