Not all stablecoins are equally stable. Before you hold or lend one, know which of the 3 types it is and how it can break 🧵
5/ "Depeg" = trading away from $1. Even big stablecoins can wobble under stress. "Stable" describes a goal, not a guarantee.
What you actually pay in gas on Ethereum:
1. Gas = units of computation
2. Fee = gas used × (base fee + tip)
3. Base fee is burned; the tip goes to the validator
4. Plain ETH transfer = 21,000 gas
5. 21,000 × (10 + 2 gwei) = 0.000252 ETH
6. Tx fails onchain? You still pay gas
Many DeFi losses for beginners aren't fancy hacks. They're avoidable wallet mistakes. Here's the security checklist I'd give my younger self 🧵
5/ "Send ETH, get double back" giveaways are always scams. DMs from "support" are scams. Check the URL: X link previews can be spoofed.
Providing liquidity ≠ free yield. Impermanent loss vs just holding (Uniswap v2 math, before fees):
1.25x price move → -0.6%
1.5x → -2.0%
2x → -5.7%
3x → -13.4%
5x → -25.5%
Same loss if price halves. Fees may or may not cover it.

Study it. Save it. Refine it into your own framework. Discipline + structure = repeatable edge.
