One of the strangest but most pleasant experiences right now is letting Claude Code, Codex, et cetera run builds (especially upgrades to existing programs) while other work gets done.

You can't take the Pro Bowl seriously if Shedeur Sanders made it on the roster, even if as an alternate. That's just a fact.

“Rent your office, but own your website.” Fantastic advice for anyone starting a law firm (or any business) from @CharleyMann with @gyitsakalakis and @RonLatz on the “They Don’t Teach This in Law School” podcast.

Remember when Howard Dean was booted from the primary for a quick screech?

Apparently the best place to start a spam newsletter is on @beehiiv I keep getting hit by email newsletters I didn't even know existed.

Good life advice: be a person others want to be around. Don't be the one they simply tolerate.

Stop gambling money on sports. How could you bet on yourself instead?

Why do people use grey text on websites? ALWAYS do fully black text when it's a white or light color background. It's just easier to read.

I work with people across the political spectrum. Turns out... There are lots of good people with wildly different beliefs from each other. Some people just have a hard time remembering this simple truth.

I gladly cosign this statement.
If you tried to open a restaurant and run it by yourself, people would say you were insane. No one person could be the host, chef, waiter, and dishwasher all at once. Same for law firms. Or any business, really.

If you've managed to gain an audience's attention, what you do next with it matters a lot. You don't want to be the equivalent of the boy who cried wolf. Be prepared to DELIVER.

I want a "boring" business. The model and systems should be consistent. They should be the lines in which we color. I don't need to try out new things just for the sake of novelty. Just building a couple of core coaching programs and then putting in the work to scale. Doing the same with an email marketing agency that is about to open its doors as well. We will do one thing extremely well for law firms, then open a second service line once that is mastered. Then it's all about scale while maintaining exceptional service standards. Nothing fancy, just what works.

We need to close any gaps on unitary executive theory. Because it’s all fun and games when your team is in power… but what about when the other team takes over? Do we just play back and forth ping pong with our entire country? The endless whiplash would be insane…

Lots of people "know their stuff." So you'd better be an interesting person to work with and/or learn that stuff from. Don't be boring.

Generally good advice: first, go in the opposite direction of the majority in business. Not always correct. Some conventional wisdom still matters. But ask where the majority’s advice is coming from… and who it really benefits if you follow it.

It’s not a principle until it costs you money. - Bill Bernbach 100% true.

My most popular recent podcast episode is titled: "A Spectacular Guide on How to Fail as a Law Firm Owner" What's the lesson? Do people love the schadenfreude vibe or is it the whole spectacular guide of it all?

Seen a bunch of people say they're leaving Meta and X. They're "done" with those platforms. And they keep reminding me on those platforms every couple of days 🤦‍♂️

I find the whole "price of eggs/milk" fascinating. Why are those the visible benchmarks for prices?

Whatever you're trying to achieve, it won't be easy. Stop searching for easy. It can be made simple. But easy? Nah. Hard work across simple systems.
