Tomorrow, Autumn Equinox, Tuesday 22nd September, on the hour from midnight to midnight on Pacific Standard Time, Los Angeles County Museum of Art @LACMA will premiere the last set of SPIRITS art works, derived from plastic sandals collected on the Moroccon Atlantic shore. A new work takes over the museum front web page to allow a global public to interact, building infinitely variable worlds in sound and image through touch on both desktop and handheld devices. With the release of its final chapter, SPIRITS is now viewable in its entirety at lacma.org/art/exhibition/joh… through December 21, 2026, when the work closes on the one-year anniversary of its opening.

Through their respective practices, Reas and Chen will discuss the relationship between software and cinema, spatial experience, narrative, and the ways computational systems shape how we perceive and imagine worlds.

Introducing Fountain Coffee Club, a new way to meet and connect with fellow art lovers. Launching in Los Angeles this fall and expanding to cities around the world, the Fountain team invites you to tour some of LA’s most innovative art and technology institutions with us. Each month, we’ll announce a new surprise location. Come meet up with us, and chat about art over a cup of coffee in one of the best cities in the world. FCC is intentionally intimate (and free), with just 10–15 guests each month, so we encourage you to RSVP early (and please only RSVP if you can make it!).
