“When the war reached our village, we had to flee, leaving everything behind except the clothes we were wearing,” says Morada, a newly displaced mother in southwestern Yemen. Morada is one of more than 200,000 people who have fled their homes since the Yemen conflict escalated on Sept. 3. This is the worst outbreak of conflict since a U.N.-brokered truce in 2022. When Sefian gave birth to premature twins, both babies needed more specialized care than the rural health center could provide. They were referred to a hospital nearly 46 miles away, where they spent six weeks receiving care in a neonatal intensive unit. Eventually, Sefian was able to bring the newborns home. Two months later, both babies were diagnosed with severe acute malnutrition. “I did not expect my babies to survive." Read more: care.org/news-and-stories/ch…

Rabeya crosses rivers by boat, travels on motorcycles through remote villages, and walks through mud to reach women in crisis-affected communities. As a project officer for a CARE-supported program in southern Bangladesh, she builds women’s leadership in emergencies from the ground up — one group, one conversation, and one changed mind at a time. care.org/news-and-stories/wo…

The next four months could determine whether Sudan’s hunger crisis deepens in 2027. The Philippines faces a significant shortage of doctors and nurses, putting a strain on its health system. Susan had seen neighbors rely on advice from friends and acquaintances instead of seeking care at the city health center. She wanted to help change that and decided to become a barangay health worker in 2025, with the help of CARE's HEAL Hub. care.org/news-and-stories/ca…

Across Somalia, as food becomes increasingly scarce, mothers are struggling to keep their children fed, pregnant and breastfeeding women are battling to meet their own nutritional needs, and girls face growing risks of dropping out of school, exploitation and early marriage. As needs rise and support dwindles, a looming Super El Niño threatens to bring flooding, disease outbreaks and displacement to communities already pushed to their limits: care.org/media-and-press/som…

Great op-ed in the @nytimes today from @MrBeast and @rajshah on the power of storytelling to spotlight solutions and inspire action! Earlier this year, I had the chance to travel with them to #Ghana. The video below takes me right back to that day. nytimes.com/2026/09/23/opini…

While Nepal may be fading from the headlines, the need for support has not. CARE continues to deliver critical aid to families recovering from the devastating August 26 flash floods, and we need your help. At least 1,411 people have died and 5,875 remain missing. Too often, those who have contributed the least to climate change are among those most affected by its impacts, and this is more apparent than ever following the tragedy in Nepal.
