At Burlcore Mining, we believe responsible mining is about more than extraction. Our work is built on three pillars: strict regulatory compliance, transparent operating practices, and long-term community investment.

True value isn't just what we extract - it's what we build. 🌍
Through the Burlcore Foundation, our commitment to Busia goes beyond compliance. From ensuring clean water access to prioritising local-first hiring, we are proving that medium-scale gold mining can drive genuine, sustainable prosperity in the Lake Victoria Green Belt.

When we build, we want the community to build with us.
Before starting work near Mawero, Busia, our team sat down with 14 local residents - not to present a plan, but to listen.
Two people stood out. Ndegge, a carpenter and father of seven, working under a tree with whatever tools he could gather. Issa, a basket maker whose craft was known locally but who had no secure place to trade from.
Neither needed charity. Both needed capital.
So the Burlcore Foundation invested: 🔨 Tools, timber and funding for Ndegge's carpentry - he's since completed his biggest commission yet, a hand-built bunk bed frame, and we've backed him with varnish and finishing materials to lift the quality (and price) of his work.
🧺 Stock and materials for Issa's weaving - his baskets are now selling, and he's actively looking for premises to rent, which we will fund once he finds the right one.
🎓 Seven-plus children kept in school as household income steadies.
This is what responsible operations should look like: when a business arrives in a community, local trade should grow alongside it - not be displaced by it.
Both men are still working, still trading, still ours to walk alongside. We'll keep sharing the progress.

Burlcore Mining on behalf of Burlcore foundation has expanded its micro-enterprise support in Busia, providing new tools to locals like Ndegge’s carpentry business and funding a shop for Issa’s basket-making trade. These initiatives aim to build durable local economic assets using extractive revenues. Read the full story at burlcorefoundation.org
Delivering Clean Water for the Long Term
At Burlcore Mining Company Limited, we believe that responsible mining is measured by the positive, lasting impact we leave behind in the communities that host us. Today, we are incredibly proud to highlight the continued progress of our community water well initiative across Busia District, Uganda.
Through the Burlcore Foundation, our teams are working diligently to bring reliable, clean drinking water to rural families, local schools, and health clinics.
Our Water Initiative’s Impact:
Accessible Infrastructure: We are funding and installing hydro-geologically surveyed boreholes, distribution points, and storage tanks across the Lake Victoria Green Belt.
Advanced Water Filtration: As part of our Phase One rollout in communities like Mawero, we have integrated a high-capacity water filtration system to ensure the safest drinking water possible.
Health & Education: Since the initiative began, local health workers have noted a decline in waterborne illnesses, and schools have reported higher pupil attendance now that children no longer have to spend their mornings fetching water from distant surface sources.
Community-Led Maintenance: Every site is handed over to locally elected, trained water committees, with spare parts pre-funded for the first three years to ensure long-term reliability.
Water is the most fundamental piece of infrastructure a community can have, and it is exactly where a responsible operator should start.
We invite you to see the real-world impact of these projects. You can now view details and imagery of the newly added water filtration system displayed on both of our platforms:

Precision geology and disciplined engineering are the foundation of responsible mining.
In the heart of Eastern Uganda’s Busia district lies one of the continent’s most promising gold reserves within the Lake Victoria Green Belt. But raw geological potential only creates real value when paired with modern, institutional-grade execution.
At Burlcore Mining, our operations aren't driven by guesswork—they are powered by technical rigor from pit face to formal handover:
🔬 Data-Driven Exploration: Utilizing modern geological mapping, controlled drilling, and rigorous core sample analysis to accurately map ore bodies before extraction begins.
🚜 Mechanized Operations: Modernizing medium-scale mining with disciplined asset management, optimized processing equipment, and structured pit management.
🛡️ Zero-Harm Culture: Enforcing strict PPE, occupational health guidelines, and environmental monitoring protocols across every shift.
By merging local geological expertise with institutional standards, Burlcore is showing how medium-scale gold mining in East Africa can operate with efficiency, safety, and absolute transparency.
