The hardest part of this @discord quest is finding out which Overkill on @Roblox they want us to play.

It’s finally here. 6 years in the making. A year ago, the guys at @UnsubscribeCast took a chance on Scavland, and since then our team has grown from 3 to 15. This is our love letter to the games that shaped us - Tibia, Ultima Online, Tarkov, Darkwood, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Metro and more. SCAVLAND enters Early Access on September 4th. It’s been one hell of a journey. We hope you enjoy what we’ve built. ☢️ Wishlist on Steam!

A new #Roblox challenger approaches Around 3 years ago I spoke to a former #Rockstar employee. He spoke of how Rockstar was looking to hire people involved in the "Metaverse". I knew then #GTA6 was planning to be UGC driven, same as Roblox has always been and same as what #Fortnite eventually became. It just made sense. GTA 5 Online reportedly makes around $500M a year. GTA 6 needs to make more than that, and a UGC-driven economy is the best way to do so. GTA 6 won't release on PC until likely a year after the initial launch to consoles, which is a single-player game. We may see GTA 6 Online release at the same time as the PC launch, with a UGC market shortly after, if not immediately. Roblox has been hyper focused on bringing more adults to their platform for 5 years now. Unfortunately things that I feel should have been released by now are still nowhere to be seen. They've had to prioritize reactive policy over proactive policy, leaving things like 18+ assets, drugs, sexual content, gambling, etc. on the backburner while they deal with regulation from governments around the world. This has led to a lot of things many of their players do not like, such as age verification with facial recognition. It will be interesting to see how GTA 6, a game marketed to and meant for adults, handles an ever-evolving UGC gaming world. How will they handle bad actors, DMCA, age verification, account terminations and appeals, and the other countless challenges Roblox has had to frontline and set the standard for? I can see them not having to deal with a lot of government regulation, given they're not a platform "made for kids", but I expect them to face many challenges regardless. Roblox has always wanted to get their #RBLX stocks up with more adult players, who spend way more money than their primarily U18 audience. One of their biggest challenges has been incentivizing creators to make games for this audience, at one point even throwing tens of millions to these creators, hoping they'd create something worthwhile. Despite all their efforts, developers still make games meant for younger audiences 99% of the time. Roblox's next attempt to attract adults is to use AI to give every game a high-fidelity filter. We'll just have to see how that goes for them. Unfortunately this tells me Roblox execs have a fundamentally misunderstood idea of what adult gamers like. In the end, once GTA 6 Online becomes available, Roblox will have a lot of trouble winning that adult audience over.
GTA 6 leakers claim the game will feature in-game currency that can be exchanged for real-life money

Was feeling nostalgic and tried finding all the titles you could unlock in Assassin's Creed 3 multiplayer. Not even AI can find the list online. 😔 @assassinscreed you by any chance have the list? I recall you unlocking them through challenges, maybe just leveling and prestige.

I put roughly 300 hours into AC3 multiplayer on Xbox, 2012-2013, in my teenage years. Hit around prestige 20. At one point I was even in the top 100, forget exactly where I landed. May have been a seasonal leaderboard. What was supposed to be a stealthy PVP game turned more into a real-time brawler with how we all played the Assassinate mode. Shame they nerfed it in AC4 and eventually scrapped multiplayer altogether.

Fuzion Frenzy and Crimson Skies were some great childhood games. My family's giant old box TV had an issue where the colors would split and I'd have to get up in the middle of a dog fight in Crimson Skies and start slapping the side of my TV to fix it. 🤣

When the shift on Roblox from PC majority to Mobile majority happened around 2015, the impact was very noticeable. Building games practically vanished, the popularity of genres shifted, and how games were made changed as creators focused on the mobile player first. Last I recall, about 75% of Roblox players are on mobile, and what many of us old users grew up with simply wasn't possible for the new generation of players. When I grew up, all my friends on Roblox dabbled in building, either in Studio or various building games. It wasn't in a serious way with intent to make money or grow a business, it was simply for fun; to create spaces they could spend time with their friends in. Now, many of the largest creators on the platform are those who grew up in this environment, starting out simply wanting to have fun creating something. Over time they learned to make more complex things, realizing one day they could make something truly great. For a long time this has not been the case. Most young people on Roblox are completely cut off from creation, and treat Roblox completely differently than early users did because of that. The blocker has always been the lack of tools available for mobile players. This is a great step in the right direction, giving the new generation of Roblox players the opportunity to create.
For 20 years, Roblox has been on a mission to remove limits on what gaming is – and what it can be. Today, we're introducing Build – a new way for anyone to create a game on Roblox from their phone. And we’re expanding AI-powered tools for developers of every level. We're doing this for one reason: The world needs more play. Play is humanity's oldest technology for connection and learning. Before agriculture, before commerce, before civilization, we played together. And as the world has become more fragmented, the need for play only grows. Our role is to remove every obstacle between that play and the people who want to create it. Faster iteration and fewer technical constraints. And more room to push further than a single creator – or a small team – could have gone in the past. This isn’t just for studios who've already proven themselves. Some of the most important work in this industry has come from first-time creators – who were often Roblox players first – with a single focused idea. Between now and RDC, we'll incrementally roll out what we are building to make all of this real – new tools for creators, new ways for players to play, and new ways for people to find the things they love.

Decided to try out that new Roblox game Gakuran. It generates a random look for you when you spawn. ... I am the only one in a 50-player server who is bald.

Wild that in Roblox I can still hear people voice chat for a minute+ after leaving a game. Even closing it on the background programs menu on the taskbar doesn't stop it. Have to open the Task Manager to shut it down, join a new game or just see how long it takes to close itself.

Can finally simulate what it was like when I first joined Roblox. One of my favorite things to do when there were no character animations was to put blocks on my shoulders and spin like a helicopter blade to hit and fling other players.

Curious if this is a paid sponsor, or if Dexerto is suddenly becoming more interested in discussing Roblox games, even if those games are just banking off memes like brainrots.
Roblox's Catch a Brainrot RPG lets players collect and battle brainrot memes like Pokémon You can even choose Tung Tung Tung Sahur as a starter

See a lot of people guessing paid, but it's worth noting the announcement for this game is a highly engaged post, just like the post that led to Dexerto highlighting TTK. Possible they're just going off viral posts. xitter.cf/i/status/2074108055650…
Catch a Brainrot, the creature collecting game with Brainrots, will be breaking Roblox in less than four days. Will see you this Friday, July 10

2 1/2 years later we're finally getting more grass options. I wonder if they've still kept these materials no one uses 🤣 xitter.cf/Roblox/status/20702607…
Can't recall Brick, Concrete, Pavement or Wood Planks being used outside of Roblox-created games a decade ago. Think it'd be better to get rid of them or let us replace them. Being limited to 22 materials in a large map is lame and I'd rather have more options with grass.

More people keep popping up with the Deadly Dark Dominus, and allegedly the price to purchase a code for it keeps going down. Given it was a chaser code (meaning a rare addition) for Roblox toys exclusively at SDCC 2019, I can't imagine there were that many to begin with. Either someone dug them out of a warehouse, found an old database with the codes, or someone's generating new codes for the item. However they're doing it, they're making a rich profit selling them for USD.

Today marks 19 years since I made my boring account on Roblox. The only MMO I really played before I discovered Roblox was Runescape. Got curious and logged into my account to see how old it was. 21 years and 211 days old.
