Yesterday, some of our Year 9s visited @BlackpoolZoo to learn about extinction and conservation, and the effect humans can have on both of these two things. They also had chance to tour the zoo and see an array of animals, having a great day! 🐘 #TeamWoodhey

🌟 Securing coverage on national TV for @BlackpoolZoo 🌟
How would you announce the news of two elephant pregnancies? Naturally, we had to go big & secure a slot on one of TV's favourite morning chat shows! 📺🐘

Glitter + elephant dung = science 🐘✨
At @BlackpoolZoo eles are fed different colours of edible glitter to identify dung, & samples are sent to the cutting-edge research lab at Chester Zoo to keep track of reproductive cycles 🐘

Meet Jarang 🦧🥰
We've officially named our tiny, critically endangered orangutan baby after our online competition to raise funds for the Orangutan Foundation smashed its target, with keepers finally deciding on the perfect name of Jarang, meaning 'rare' in the Malay language.
A total of £1877.90 was donated by almost 300 people, topping the original goal of £1000. All proceeds will go to the Orangutan Foundation, which works tirelessly to save orangutans by protecting their habitats, working with local communities and promoting research and education.

Love this world Map that we produced and installed for @BlackpoolZoo in their education centre recently.
The graphic is going to be used to show children where the different animals on site originate from.
