Being fastest is wonderful. Being #1 in security and reliability is something we are more proud of. Enterprise use cases require all 3.
Fast apps start with fast blocks
Among L1s, the quickest chains produce blocks up to 167x faster than the slowest. Milliseconds versus seconds is a gap users feel every day.

1/ Aptos tokenholders overhauled APT’s tokenomics through governance votes in under a month, and the network now generates more from gas fees, which it burns, than it pays its operators.
Token Holder Net Income (THNI), a Blockworks Research metric, turned positive in May and has held since, while Ethereum and Sui still run negative and Solana sits only marginally positive.
Where $APT tokenomics stand after the updates first proposed in February.
Approved through onchain governance:
• Gas fees set 10x higher
• Staking rewards halved from 5.19% to 2.6%
• Supply hard-capped at 2.1B APT
Per @blockworksres, burns now cover ~10% of issuance, up from 0.2% under the previous gas rate, and daily transactions doubled after the change.
The accelerating quantum advancement and cryptography research with AI means the following:
1) Longer-term, software is going to be highly secure and nearly unbreakable. Code will be written by specifications that can be formally verified.
2) Short-to-mid term, weaker software and math will break.
3) Crypto agility (e.g., the ability to rotate to quantum-safe cryptography easily) is necessary for serious financial infrastructure.
4) Decentralized infrastructure must be fast reacting to new and unexpected threats. A payments and/or trading network being offline for days is unacceptable.
Encrypted Mempool.
Now live on Aptos mainnet, it lets users opt in to encrypt a transaction's details until block ordering is finalized, lowering the risk of MEV attacks. Built for traders, institutions, AI agents, and builders.

Happy 4 years of @Aptos mainnet! The tech and products have seen innovation after innovation (it is 8 years including the work we did at Libra/Diem at Meta) but we are still so early on this journey!
Offchain transactions are basically measuring nothing. Anyone can record an offchain state change of 10 trillion per microsecond since none of it happens onchain.
The benchmark to beat for a distributed, horizontally scalable infrastructure is Shardines - already shown 1M+ TPS - reproducible over 1.5 years ago.

Also with MonoMove 10x-50x+ more performant than before, pretty much unbeatable.

A journey starts as video. At scale, it becomes spatial intelligence.
@PathPulse_AI is building a real-time picture of road conditions, movement and safety from video captured across the physical world. As that footprint grows, the data layer behind it has to keep up.
As the PathPulse team puts it:
“To map the world in real time, you need a powerful foundation. Shelby has been an amazing partner for PathPulse.ai, giving us the reliable, global network we need to stream live road insights and keep our drivers moving safely.”
The infrastructure behind spatial intelligence matters as much as the intelligence itself.
Aptos Adds Three Layers Of Onchain Privacy
Aptos (@Aptos) aptos:native now has three opt-in privacy features live on mainnet, each covering a different part of onchain activity.
Keyless Accounts allows users to generate wallets while remaining anonymous because there is no direct link between identity and blockchain address.
Confidential APT obscures balance amounts while Encrypted Mempool protects transactions from MEV attacks.
It’s time for blockchains to commercialize and modernize the financial rails for payments and trading.
It's true!
& it's pretty cool:
1. Every 2 hrs, our validators run a minimally-interactive distributed key generation (DKG) protocol to generate a decryption key for the next consensus epoch
2. This DKG needs Chunky, our *novel* publicly-verifiable secret sharing (PVSS) scheme
LATEST: 🔒 Aptos launched an optional Encrypted Mempool that keeps transaction details hidden until their ordering is finalized, which can help prevent bots from exploiting pending trades.
Compute keeps moving: new providers, new locations, new hardware. The data layer shouldn't decide where it runs.
That's the problem @shelbyserves is built for: shifting the compute without rebuilding the data layer underneath it.
Shelby is built for workloads where:
→ compute moves between locations, providers or environments;
→ data is collected, processed or trained in different places;
→ new compute creates more staging, copying or pipeline work;
→ the same dataset needs to serve multiple workloads.

Stop MEV with @Aptos
Sandwich attacks cost crypto traders tens of millions of dollars this year, but networks are fighting back 🛡️
Aptos just launched an Encrypted Mempool to shield pending transactions from MEV bots and front-running.

28.5s, every time, on 1 to 2 GB files. private beta. @shelbyserves built on @Aptos. we're just here enjoying the flat line
Enterprise AI starts with the data no one else has.
@teepin, formerly Flashback Labs, is building around proprietary enterprise data, open-source models and changing compute.
Teepin CTO & Co-Founder Srikanth Alla, previously at Amazon, ran internal tests comparing Shelby with AWS S3 on 1-2 GB files:
“In our internal testing on 1-2 GB files, Shelby’s hot storage was on par with AWS. Typical uploads finished in about 28.5 seconds, and the slowest stayed around 28-30 seconds. On S3, typical uploads were about 25.7 seconds, but the slowest 5% stretched to 32.5 seconds. Shelby’s speeds were surprisingly consistent, despite still being in private beta.”
Early proof that the data layer can keep pace as the rest of the stack changes.
Major milestone for $APT: Core contributor and investor unlocks are complete.
After 4 years of Libra & Diem, we launched @Aptos. After 4 more years, the era of core contributor and investor unlocks is over.
Excited for the next 4 years to come!
The genesis unlock schedule for Aptos core contributors and investors concluded yesterday, October 12, 2026.
It ran for four years, exactly as published at mainnet launch. No core contributor or investor tokens from genesis are left to unlock.
Original schedule: aptosnetwork.com/currents/ap…
Over 1000 req/s sustained and terabytes consistently uploaded to production per hour. The proper backbone for AI.
World class applications benefit from world class @Aptos decentralized infra.
