Earlier this week, alongside @Tineke_Strik, MEP Cecilia Strada & @SeanKellyMEP, I sent a letter on behalf of 71 MEPs to President von der Leyen, urging the Commission to come forward with a legislative proposal to ban trade with illegal Israeli settlements under the Common Commercial Policy.
This would allow a vote under qualified majority, and not unanimity.
This is not just a matter of geopolitics or international human rights law. It is about upholding our own trade policy and abiding by the rules that we have set ourselves.
We need action now, and the power to move this forward lies with President @vonderleyen.
