BREAKING: President Trump says the U.S. is cutting off roughly $4 billion in annual aid to Israel by the end of the year.
Trump says he and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have already reached an agreement, arguing Israel no longer needs the financial assistance.
The president also questions why the U.S. continues providing billions while facing political criticism over the funding, pointing to Democrats who have made American aid to Israel a campaign issue.
But the move doesn't mean an end to U.S. military cooperation with Israel. Trump says the country can still purchase American weapons.
