Now a boutique hotel, #AugillCastle was built in 1841 by John Bagot Pearson from Kirkby Lonsdale in a bid to outdo his younger sibling. He succeeded in some style, commissioning the Victorian folly castle as a weekend fantasy retreat in which to entertain friends. #Westmorland

Thanks for sharing this as I was meant to be visiting the #LakeDistrict for my annual retreat because #Cumbria is my spiritual home. I love walking, taking in the scenery and climbing those hills. Utter joy #nature @BBC_Cumbria @timfarron #StayAtHome

A VERY important message
Working on some exciting ideas for later in 2020 - Augill tea dances, an Augill comedy festival and a regular Augill jazz supper. Who’s in? #stayinacastle #theplacetobe #LakeDistrict #YorkshireDales #eden

There is far more good than bad out there

Tonight we had a regular insist on paying £260 for a £60 bill and someone who had cancelled call up and pay £50 service charge anyway. The worst situations bring out the most amazing responses in some people. Thank you if you are one of them. 💛

One of the best reactions I’ve seen is your email telling people to buy vouchers for smaller businesses who need it more ❤️ you are the best!
