Stake or cage your tomato vines in order to guarantee the healthiest plants throughout the growing season.
Tomatoes do best when you transplant them into a raised bed with a 4 - 5 inch deep hole.
When planting seedlings make sure the soil's Ph is around 6.3→6.5. If it's too alkaline, add Sulfur. 1lb per 100 square ft lasts 1-2 years.
Tomatoes do best in loose, rich, well-drained soil, so make sure to work lots of compost into your beds before planting.
The best time to transplant is on a cloudy day or in the AM. Water before transplanting tomato plants to keep roots intact.
First crop is in the ground!
