In 1900s New York, a priest proposed banning sermons from Mass entirely. 😳 His argument was that they’re long, boring, and nobody could preach in all those languages anyway. It did not go well. Full episode out 10/16. #catholic #catholictiktok #churchhistory #preaching #livingcatholic

It rained quite a bit at the Catholic Pastoral Center today. God of all creation, we thank you for the gift of rain and for all that depends upon it. 🌧️ Help us to remember this gift after the skies have cleared and the ground has dried. As we are thankful for what we have received in abundance, grant that, being sufficiently helped with temporal gifts, we may seek with more confidence those that are eternal. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen. #rain #oklahomaweather #oklahoma

Our God is the God of life. In no way can Hassan’s actions be condoned but this decision is a barbaric promotion of a culture of death and must be reconsidered. The word of God exhorts us: ‘do not repay anyone evil for evil' (Romans 12:17). usccb.org/news/2026/usccb-pr…

Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Rosary: on this day the protection of the Holy Mother of God is invoked through the prayer of the rosary, the garland of Mary, so as to encourage meditation on the mysteries of Christ under the guidance of her who shared in a singular way in the Incarnation, Passion, and Resurrection of the Son of God. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us!

Yesterday, Archbishop Paul Coakley (@ArchbishopOKC), USCCB president, and Bishop Daniel Flores (@bpdflores), USCCB vice president, met with Pope Leo XIV. They were joined by Msgr. Michael J.K. Fuller, USCCB general secretary, and Father Paul Hartmann, Associate General Secretary. Their meeting was part of the Conference’s annual visit made to the Curia offices. The USCCB is grateful for the opportunities that our bishops have to spend time with our Holy Father and assure him of our support and prayers, while also updating him on the Church in the United States. One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic. These are the Four Marks of the Church and they are heard often in prayer and at Mass, but what do they mean? Monsignor Don Wolf dedicated four episodes, one for each Mark of the Church, of his podcast and radio program, Living Catholic, to answering that question. Check out all four videos in this convenient playlist, or find them on Apple Podcasts and Spotify to give them a listen!
