This is remarkable β€” wow. Amazing what some competent, motivated and talented people can accomplish in government when given autonomy and hired for talent/qualifications vs bullshit dei metrics

Goer, Inc. , an Austin-based last-minute fitness and wellness marketplace, raised a $2 million pre-seed round led by ATHLON. Co-founded by Blake Beltram (CEO) and Ryan Clarke (COO), Goer turns unused capacity at gyms, boutique fitness studios and wellness businesses into discounted, bookable inventory without memberships or long-term commitments. FUN FACT: ATHLON is backing Goer, the new last minute fitness and wellness marketplace founded by Mindbody founder Blake Beltram and former professional athlete Ryan Clarke. Goer is raised a $2 million pre seed round as it launches its first US market in Austin. The thesis is simple: Uber monetized unused capacity in cars. Airbnb monetized unused capacity in homes. Goer is building the marketplace for unused capacity across fitness and wellness. An estimated 62% of class based fitness inventory goes unused, representing approximately $200 billion of unused capacity globally. Goer enables gyms, studios and wellness operators to dynamically release that inventory at discounted prices while retaining control over pricing, inventory and their customer experience. For ATHLON, the investment represents exactly the type of opportunity the firm was built to pursue: an experienced founder with demonstrated category creation, a massive consumer market, a clear structural inefficiency and the potential to create a platform significantly larger than the product initially suggests. FOUNDERS: Blake Beltram & Ryan Clarke INVESTOR: ATHLON ROUND: Pre-Seed AMOUNT: $2,000,000 HQ: Austin, Texas #VentureCapital #GoerInc #TradedPartner #BlakeBeltram #TradedVC

Iowa has a little bit of a different dynamic this year while still having the standard Iowa offense.. It's always gonna be led by the big guys up front and they're always gonna pound the rock.. Tony Diaz is ELECTRIC and he can take the top off of a defense #CollegeGameDay

I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with @PeterRahal over the years, and one thing has been consistent: he embodies the man in the arena. This conversation hit on something I believe deeply. Trauma, anger, insecurity, the need to prove something can either destroy you or become an extraordinary source of fuel. The difference is doing the self work to understand it, control it and channel it into relentless execution. The best founders don’t extinguish that fire. They learn how to use it without letting it consume them. Maybe that’s also why I believe some of the best early stage investors are former founders. You can learn markets and spreadsheets. It’s harder to recognize that fire in another person unless you’ve carried it yourself. What I respect most about Peter is that through all the success, he’s never left the arena. He keeps building. That’s rare. And inspiring. Keep rising brother !

Had the privilege of spending time with U.S. Ambassador @kimguilfoyle in Athens, discussing the future of the U.S. Greece relationship and the work underway to make an already historic alliance even stronger. What impressed me most is the breadth of Ambassador Guilfoyle’s vision for Greece. From expanding American investment and economic opportunity, to strengthening energy security, defense cooperation, technology and the ties between our two countries, there is a genuine sense of momentum. Her focus on positioning Greece as a strategic gateway for American investment and energy into Europe is particularly meaningful for the country’s next chapter. But sometimes the details tell you just as much as the policy. Seeing the care she has put into Jefferson House, restoring and beautifying it as a place worthy of representing America in Greece, says a great deal. It reflects pride in the office, respect for Greece and an understanding that diplomacy is also about how we represent our countries, cultures and shared values to one another. As a Greek American, I left incredibly proud of what is being built here and even more optimistic about what is ahead. Ambassador, thank you for the hospitality, the candid conversation and, most importantly, your commitment to Greece. Honored to support the mission πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
