Vibe-coded websites are getting old fast. I’m sharing this one anyway!
Sometimes I need to know how dark it will be somewhere at a specific time. I’ve tried to get every new generation of LLMs to build me a website for this, and they’ve all failed.
Until Opus 5.5. Its version looks good and actually works. Pick a place, date and time, and it shows you whether you could read a sign in that light.

Trained a Norwegian speech-to-text model on EmbeddingGemma 2's audio encoder.
10–40× faster than NB-Whisper, ~$15 to train on one H100. Not as accurate yet (10% vs 4% WER on FLEURS).

The Leafy boards have arrived!
I used AI and KiCad to design a Wi-Fi controller for my Nissan Leaf’s heater. JLCPCB soldered the trickiest parts. I’ll do the rest.
Next: practise on a spare board, finish assembly and find out if it actually works.

I’ve had enough of cold winter mornings in my Nissan Leaf. So I used Astra to design a custom PCB with KiCad that will let me turn the heater on and off from my phone.
I sent the design to JLCPCB to manufacture the board and solder the trickiest components.
Compile in London is on! Amazing talks, venue, atmosphere and food! Kicked off by @benln and @davidgomes followed up with a talk about the journey from worktrees to cloud agents.
