Your £500 website budget is the problem. "Sorry, our budget for a website is only £500, so we won't be able to continue this conversation." Fair enough. But £500 isn't going to buy you the website you're expecting. And spending £3,000 doesn't automatically solve it either. Someone can buy a $50 WordPress theme, charge you £3,000 for the pleasure, then piss off and leave you with a shit website. So what should you budget? For the kind of website I'm talking about, a good budget is £10,000–£20,000+. If you've only got £500, I'd rather you saved it each month until you've got at least £6,000 than spent it on something you'll need to replace. Walking into a Ferrari garage with £500 doesn't make Ferraris cheaper. It just means you're leaving without a Ferrari.
