What a great morning we had a @TADtalkEvents !
thanks to the wonderful panel for asking us, our amazing friend @AdrianLong3 for being gentle with us & interviewing. for all those who came over to say hey!
See you all soon! 💙
I seldom put anything on X these days, but here's one for those who remember the good old #GBDoc on Twitter a decade ago.
Me, Dave, Philippa, Kevin and Ellie reunited at #TADtalk2026
Those early connections in the #T1D community have been a true joy. – at Paddington, London
An effective piece from @BT1DUK for BBC Lifeline today, highlighting the dangers of T1D & the accelerating progress being made.
Most of us who live with T1D do so in a way which downplays its seriousness, so it’s good to get the chance to spread the word

Just been reminded that it's 30 yrs since #DontLookBackInAnger was UK No 1.
The zenith of Britpop, arguably the last great era when singles chart really mattered.
I remember this iconic TOTP performance like it was yesterday.
A true zeitgeist moment.

It's been a very long time since I wrote anything on my blog, but a forthcoming 10 year anniversary of two big peer support events brought on some reflections on the evolution of the #GBDoc

Happy birthday to granddaughter Eden, from a sleeping bundle of joy to a true companion in just two years.
Every day is a voyage of discoveries, & it's my privilege to share that voyage.
I now identify not as Adrian, not as Mr Long, but simply as 'Pa
Happy Birthday, Eden! 🎂🎁🎉
A lot has changed in the diabetes community, but #TADTalk rolls on, a decade since it started.
You can be assured of a day of fun, learning and friendship.
There's something very special about a room full of #PWT1D. – at Freckleton, England
Our Magi have safely reached their destination and delivered their gifts.
And in this household, a small Epiphany gift for the younger housemates appears under the bare tree to mark the end of Christmas.
Happy #Epiphany to all, as daily routines resume. – at Freckleton, England
A grandchild in the house really does ramp up the Christmas magic.
Approaching her second birthday, and properly into all the fun this year
Happy Christmas to one and all ✝️🎄🎅🎁 – at Freckleton, England
Today is my "diaversary"- it was on this day in 1997 (also a Friday) that a GP appointment revealed very high blood sugar, which a short while later was recognised as Type 1 Diabetes.
It's very different from Type 2, so here's a suitable diaversary message which I saw on FB today – at Freckleton, England
It's #WorldDiabetesDay
Please spare a few moments to read this. Most of us living with Type One don't like to make a fuss about it, but that doesn't mean it's not a very significant burden.

What a delight to welcome former students from my first year in teaching - 44 years ago - to a @KGSOKA reunion in their old school today. As always, years melt away and their affection is palpable for a school that was very different back then, yet in all important ways the same. – at Freckleton, England
Just watched @sewingbee final: like its precursor @BritishBakeOff, it portrays a Britain which is diverse, inclusive, tolerant, creative & KIND.
A stark contrast to the prevalent anger, intolerance and narrow-minded flag-waving.
Is it just that kind, tolerant people keep quiet? – at Freckleton, England
The clear, crisp light of a sunny September day is simply wonderful; and this year's autumn colours are already stunning.
A lovely afternoon walk today - with precious cargo on board in the backpack carrier.🥰 – at Freckleton, England
Living with an 18 month old granddaughter means I don't need an excuse to make a fairy garden 😊 – at Freckleton, England
Frantic silage-making until well into the evening: a sure sign of a coming change in the weather. The choreography between the two fast-moving machines is mighty impressive. – at Freckleton, England
It was on this day 10 years ago that I was accompanied to work at @KirkhamGrammar by a film crew to make a short film showing how @FreeStyleDiabet made such a difference on busy days like A-Level Results Day. It's aged well, and Libre did indeed prove to be a game changer. #GBDoc – at Freckleton, England

A lovely gathering of @kIrkancenau friends for a garden party at our home, under perfect summer skies.
A pleasure to see everyone enjoying our garden & field then heading home laden with foraged blackberries and plums
Thanks to all who attended, raising much needed £££ for KTA – at Freckleton, England
Wishing the happiest of birthdays to my diabestie @ellierosehuckle as she completes 28 circuits around the sun - and of course to her twinnie Lauren. – at Freckleton, England
