FUNNY HOW LIFE HAS A WAY OF KEEPING US ON OUR TOES… 😂 I’ve been thinking… why is it that we spend so much time making plans, figuring things out, and trying to get everything just right, when life clearly has other ideas? 🤦‍♀️ We get comfortable with how we think things should go, start getting attached to our little plans, and then BAM… life throws in a plot twist nobody ordered. 😂 And honestly, sometimes all you can do is laugh. Maybe we need to lighten up a little. Not everything needs to be analyzed, explained, fixed, or turned into some big life lesson. Sometimes things just happen. People surprise us. Plans change. We change our minds. And every now and then, we realize that what we thought we wanted isn’t necessarily what we needed. I think we get so caught up in trying to make the most of life that we forget to actually ENJOY it. There’s something to be said for being able to laugh at ourselves, roll with the unexpected, say yes to something different, and not feel like we have to have every little thing figured out. Because let’s be honest… how many times have things turned out completely different than we expected, only to realize later that maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing after all? Maybe the trick isn’t having it all figured out. Maybe it’s learning to enjoy the ride, even when we’re not entirely sure where we’re going. And if all else fails… laugh, take a breath, and keep it moving. We’ve got enough going on without making life harder than it needs to be. 😂❤️ Just a little reminder to enjoy the ride. Some days don’t unfold the way we imagined. You wake up with one version of how the day might go, and somewhere along the way, life gently (or sometimes not so gently) reminds you that you’re not entirely in charge of the plans. Today was one of those days. A reminder that life doesn’t always wait for a convenient moment to interrupt us. Sometimes it comes through an unexpected phone call, a sleepless night, a loved one who needs us, or a moment that shifts our attention away from everything else we thought was important. And perhaps that’s where some of life’s deeper lessons hide. I’ve been thinking about how easily we get caught up in the momentum of living. The things we need to accomplish, the conversations we haven’t finished, the worries we carry into tomorrow, and all the little things that somehow convince us they can’t wait. Until something happens. Suddenly, the things that seemed so important become a little quieter. Not because they no longer matter, but because we’re reminded that there are things that matter more. Maybe being present isn’t always about finding peace in a beautiful, quiet moment. Maybe sometimes it’s found in the middle of uncertainty, sitting beside someone you love, rearranging your plans, or simply showing up when you’re needed. I wonder how many moments we move through without realizing they’re the ones we’ll remember most. How often do we postpone a conversation, a visit, a hug, or even just sitting still with someone because we assume there will be another opportunity? We spend so much time preparing for the life we want to live that sometimes we forget to notice the life that’s happening right in front of us. And maybe that’s something worth sitting with. What if the measure of a day isn’t how much we accomplished, how much we checked off a list, or how closely things followed our plans? What if sometimes it’s simply how we showed up for the moments we never saw coming? Tonight, I’m reminded that life is happening in the in-between. In the interruptions. In the unexpected detours. In the ordinary moments that don’t seem extraordinary until we look back. Perhaps we don’t need every day to go according to plan. Perhaps we just need to remember what deserves our attention while we’re here. Because in the end, the things that fill our calendars aren’t necessarily the things that fill our lives. #AKCB #reflection
